can't join LAN server - but can see it
hi,
just set up a dedicated (LAN) server.
as I'm running the server on my PC, myself is able to connect and play.
tried to invite 2nd player via serverbrowser.
on 2nd PC i get the invitation (and am able to see the LAN server), click on "yes" and then ....
nothing happens.
10 seconds later I'm able to invite the 2nd accound as well (LAN server still able to see) and so on.
As I'm running several other dedicated servers (ARK etc.) and everything is running fine, I'm helpless at the moment.
Any idea what's my mistake?

Many thanks.

Cheers

when u made the server run the bat file first,this will generate the needed stuff for the first time run which u can alter in the configuration files later on,now on the web ini in the config ini change benabled to true from false.this will alow u to access the web interface throught your browser.put your ip ect in the browser it will take u to your servers admin page,there u put in the admin name and password then u can alter settings there then start up kf2 go to the lan there u see your server just put in password if u have that server locked:) then u should connect and others too

Dear Frostbite,
thanks, but I tried that before. Same result, I can connect, the other PC in the LAN not.
In the logfile I can't see the login try of the other PC either - as I see my login.

Remove the password and try, can you connect?

Perhaps while the query port 27015 was open and now in use by the KF2 server process, your port 7777 is actually already in use or not forward/open.

in PCServer-KFGame.ini (or LinuxServer-KFGame.ini)

Port=7777
PeerPort=7778
QueryPort=27015

Adjust as needed, try again.

You could also attempt a manual connection via "open 127.0.0.1:7777" in console. I'm not sure what affect the password setting has on this option, but on KF1 it would dissallow the connection if you did not specify a password in the console command. Unfortunately, I am unsure what the password command for KF2 servers are. Perhaps you might want to take the above suggestions and also try with the password off.

Best of luck
