Split screen?
Hello.

For Christmas I got the game and I a friend of mine is coming from a 3-hour trip, and would like to introduce this game to her, so I was wondering if there was split screen available so we casn both play together. I have an XBOX controller, I use mouse and keyboard on the game and I also have two monitors, would it be possible to do this?

I don't see why it shouldn't be possible, it's PC. But you'd also need access to 2 copies of the game, set it up so one runs on each monitor and find out how to make sure one game takes input from kb/m and the other from the gamepad (probably the hardest part and I don't have experience doing this, but google is your friend).

That's basically the same as bringing your PC to your friend's house, go online and play together. No splitscreen needed.

Friend's not a PC gamer and doesn't even have Steam, hence why a feature of split screen is requested.

Would it work if I had the Steam link? Played on my PC and a friend could play it on a TV?

You should fix that.

The problem with split screen would be that Valve would have to invent a new login system that enables multiple Steam accounts to be logged in to the same device simultaneously, similarly to Xbox Live's multiplayer.

Having split screen on just one Steam account would enable players to level a perk much faster than normal gameplay would permit because they could just assign the controller "players" to the same perk as the keyboard and mouse, and the kb/m player can just do everything.

The cheese that I mentioned above is pretty much the reason why Dungeon Defenders Eternity removed the split screen feature from the base game

Nothing that needs fixing.

Then how come Black Ops 3 (Call of Duty) was able to have split screen then?

Does BO3 split screen affect multiplayer progression? Because solo mode in KF2 does

It does the exact thing you said that would effect this if it were split screen, different perks, levels, etc, that all happens in Black Ops 3 with their levels on pretty much every one of their gamemodes, especially campaign.
