SWAT Zed Time perk: Which one do you use?
Just got to level 25 with SWAT and wanted to see what people are using.

Battering Ram: During Zed time, you move in real-time and have massive knockdown power when you run into a Zed.

Rapid Assault: During Zed time, when using perk weapons you have unlimited ammo, shoot in near real-time, and increase stumble power by 100%.

My thoughts: Battering Ram only appears to be really useful for kiting when you need to get passed a congested area. For big zeds when camping, knocking one down is not always optimal during zed time because you're just going to mess with your teammate's aim or tactics. I love moving in real-time during zed time, but I just don't think this class is one to take advantage of it.

Rapid Assault seems like it's far more useful for camping and decapping big zeds. I guess the only real issue is the stumble power can mess with you and your teammates aiming.

I only got to try out Battering Ram and it was pretty fun/gimmicky, but I'll probably end up sticking with Rapid Assault.

I like the thought of Battering Ram and it sure is fun but Rapid Assault is far too good to not use it. You just annihilate everything in front of you.

RAPID ASSAULT
1. resistance to slow-mo, on firing: 51% faster shooting speed
2. stumble power multiplier x2
3. Weapon does not consume ammo
Also:
1. This skill also affects 9mm, stumble power multiplier is applied on all weapons
2. Rapid assault stacks with suppression rounds, skills stack together as a multiplication. Total multiplier = 2x3 = 6. Those two skills also modify stumble power of 9mm pistols

VS

BATTERING RAM
1. Player movement speed resistance to slow motion: 100%
2. Player knock down zeds, on bump, ability w/o CD activation time.

Conclusion:
There is a lot to trade off if you would like to pick battering ram over rapid assault. Overal, rapid assault gives you stronger and more powerful bonuses, although this opinion may extremely vary, depending on your gameplay style

Cheers!

Rapid assault seems like a winner since you can pretty much dispatch any zed during zed time

But i really love how the Battering Ram sounds like. I always liked feeling like an unstopable armor-heavy tank or something. SWAT with left-side perks kinda fills that but eh, right-sided perks are overall more comfortable and more versalite.

Rapid Assault + having a high level commando on the team = fire hydrant of bullets in all directions, killing EVERYTHING

also, if you have say the kriss and the p90 and your kriss runs out of ammo completely and are using the p90 or whatever your backup is when zed time procs you can pull out the kriss and send out a wave of ♥♥♥♥ you

Infinite Ammo, Battering Ram is trash in comparison. The only time Battering Ram is gonna be better is if theres a group of like, 5+ Fleshpounds, its very situational. Infinite Ammo on the other hand can be used in almost every situation, including that 5+ fleshpound situation.

So basically Battering Ram is very niche and Infinite Ammo is just a lot more useful, you can just flat out kill ZEDs with infinite ammo rather then ragdoll them and make it a lot harder for your team to shoot them as they fly around and then lay on the ground.

I guess it could be good if you have a lot of chaos perks too but otherwise Infinite Ammo is gonna be better. Its probably better not to play SWAT with a bunch of chaos perks anyway.

+ Infinite ammo
Knockdown a raged Fp is fun but blow 2-3 Fps heads are twice more.

I still believe that Battering Ram would work better with Berserk.

agree, maybe even swapping Berserker Rage with SWAT's battering ram. SWAT could use a tanky ZED time talent like that, where he'd regain health per activation of ZED time and fear nearby ZEDs, I think that perk is awful on Zerk as well but they'd actually be better swapped I think. It would probably need a buff too, at least if it was moved to SWAT.

Maybe even axing (heh) Zerker Rage and maybe something like:

-Get 1 free grenade per activation of ZED time, grenades explode right after hitting the ground during ZED time, free grenades expire when ZED time finishes and 50% faster grenade animation speed in ZED time

This would let let SWAT use his flashbangs during ZED time a little bit, which would offer much more Crowd Control and AoE trash control at the cost of the sheer DPS the Infinite Ammo talent gives. To prevent nade spamming these nades will not be thrown in real time, but will get a speed up.

To make it so Spartan on Zerker is still balanced, Battering Ram would still have the same movement speed in ZED time, but obviously the weapons won't be attacking in real time like with Spartan, this way both of Zerk's ZED time talents grant the same movement in ZED time while one offers a more tanky choice and the other a more DPS choice.

Battering Ram, even after the buffs, pales in comaprision to Rapid Assault. Sure, moving in real-time is nice and could let you escape easier, but why not be able to spray and endless amount of bullets and eliminate the threat instead?
"Rapid Assault" is the clear winner here!!!!

besides, if you equip yourself with the HMTech-201, not only can you take out trash and medium-tier Zeds, but the infinite healing darts you can shoot out in Zed Time basically turns you into a secondary Field Medic of sorts
