Logitech Mouse & Keyboard Lights Have A Mind Of Their Own After Halloween Horror Update

I played 1 game solo offline on the map Hostile Grounds for the Daily Achievement vault money bonus and all of a sudden my Logitech G610 Orion Keyboard and G502 Spectrum started turning off. I paused, ALT+TABed to the Logitech software, then everything went back to normal.... so I returned to game. It started happening again, so I just rolled with it.

I swear to god the lights were like a mood ring changing colors and lighting modes depending on what happened in game, but typically they would be dim or totally off. If ZED time triggered they would light up, if a siren screamed the lights would blink quickly. My blue mouse light turned from yellow, back to blue, to red at various times during the game. After I finished the game, I quit to desktop and everything was back to normal for real.

So basically KF2 can take control of your RGB light settings as far as the hardware I mentioned above goes. It was spooky and I couldn't really put my finger on it until I noticed the pattern of lighting effects during ZED time and when a Siren screamed.


What's weird is that I didn't notice any of the lighting effect changes happening until I played solo offline and on that map Hostile Grounds. I had completed the other 2 achievements and was going for the last one.

I'm uncomfortable knowing a that a legit game could take control on my PC or affect it in such a way. If there's a way to disable this I'd like to know. So far it seems harmless, I don't look at my keyboard anyway.

Yeah, it's really strange. I have a G502 Proteus Spectrum and the lights turn off or flicker. My friend with a G910 says he has the same issues with his keyboard. It acts up until I change profiles, then stays normal for a bit.

You can always disable custom LED Lighting i LGS either globally or per app.

same. i have a logitech g300s mouse. colours keep changing and/or turning off continuously.

Guus, you need to consider 2 things.
1. TWI announced support for Logitec lighting in public.
2. You are overdramatizing. Grossly. Uncomfortable knowing a game can affect your PC in such a way? What? Hey, games can affect your PC in ways that worse than that. If lights worry you, what about the possibility to wipe your complete profile? If you don't trust TWI, better uninstall the game right now.

I do wish there was a way to turn this off in settings. I try to turn it off globally in the Logitech software, but that software is such a steaming pile of ♥♥♥♥ it never seems to actually do anything. Case in point staring at my glowing red keyboard and mouse now. Future keyboard and mouse requirements are to NOT have LEDs like this.

This has more to do with your brand of keyboard and drivers for them. We added rgb lighting affects for Razer, Logitech, and AlienFx. As was mentioned you can disable and further control your lighting affects through their software.

1. Didn't get the memo and I play this game almost everyday. Think outside your bubble.
2. For about 10 minutes I didn't know wtf was happening in the middle on the night with jack squat coming back on google searches. As harmless as it is, this is malware like behavior. There should be a tick box in game or a confirmation page after the update.

How about if AMD or Nvidia takes control of your webcam and records the last 10 minutes of a fapfest? A new feature of Shadow Play and ReLive.

To all the people saying you can use the manufacteror software to disable this:
Have you even ever tried using the Logitech software? I have turned off the ability for games to change the LEDs at LEAST 10 times in the last month. It keeps magically turning back on. The software is ♥♥♥♥. Every time a new game comes out that thinks it's cool to use these LEDs in some fashion Logitech's software seems to think hey, maybe I really didn't want it turned off after all. Maybe all those other times I didn't really mean it. I better turn it back on.

Not including a setting in the game itself is just pure laziness.

i use g19 and i have to disable illuminations every time i play kf2 now,it doesnt keep the settings,deleting the main profile for the logitech software didnt work too even after a clean install with the g19,yes disabling it works ofc,till u pplay the game again after its been closed for a while it starts a dance them and its like blackpool illumination on my keyboard lol
