CPU benchmarks for this game?
Hi
I was wonderring if there are any specific benchmarks for killing floor 2 when it comes to the CPU.
I am aware that a good GPU for renderring & flex is needed.
I have an MSI gtx 1070 for graphics and a gtx 970 for flex with a 1080p 144hz monitor.

Those are more than enough for the graphics & flex.

I like high frame rates.

I would like to know to what extent the following 3 things matter.
Memory speed
CPU Core count
CPU frequency.

On some custom servers with many player the frame rate takes a hit. It is not due to lacking GPU power.

The new 8700k is out and are looking to gauge if upgrading from my overclocked i7-3770k is worth it.

Flex will wreck fps in any build. Also it looks worse than default gore.

The GPUs are not close to being maxed out. It is obviously an issue relating to the CPU/memory and maybe the game itself.

I need benchmarks to determine which it is

Flex need a good cpu. A gtx 1060 is more than enough.

Which CPU. Benchmarks please. Opnions are useless to me.

A gtx 1060 is not a CPU

i5-4460, I used "stat unit" command to see the cpu and gpu time, when I turn on flex, not much change in gpu time but cpu time can go up to 20ms.

Two things that might help,

1. KF2 is incredibly well optimized
2. You're better off with no flex

Tried it. Definitely a CPU issue. I use process lasso. Forced it to use real cores only but helped. It seems to be due to poor single threaded performance. They need to fix the game. An i7-8700k will be little help.

Its well optimised except for flex which is what they need to fix.
I like flex anyway. It makes the game stand out. Without its just another zombie type co op. Plenty of them.

Its only a performance problem for me when on non standard servers with many players.
It seems fine for standard ones.
It seems a big upgrade will not improve performance much.

With my setup, I use process lasso to force the game on a high priority and not use hyperthreaded cores.
The gtx 970 dedicated to flex also helps. Glad I decided not to sell it.

i am running on an i52400 8gig ram 650ti gtx no issues no v sync no flex all on medium settings pulling 60fps easy mine done fluctuate. One of the best optimised games for low end machines around cant fault it. The newer gen i series & videocards need upto date game driver before they seen any benifit playing this game.

If you set flex to gibs only, it gives a minimum performance hit with a big ol' boost to the satisfaction of combat (It's like a grim firework display if you fir ean RPG into a bunch of zeds, marvelous). It's the fluids simulation that really kicks a PC's behind.

A mention here also is,when your going to custom servers...
These are player made maps probably not professionally optimized.

Yeah, I don't know why people write Flex off as a whole. It's the fluids which look kind of weird and really butcher the performance. Gibs, on the other hand, enhance the experience for the price of a reasonable performance hit. It's really cool to see intestines flying around and hanging on fences or other obstacles.

Also, if you want to toy with various fancy Flex objects, I recommend downloading NVIDIA's demo. It delivers a lot of short-term fun.
Just search for "nvidia flex demo download".
Noodles and water in this demo behave really similarly to intestines and blood in KF2. They're just more colorful. :)
