What is considered a "ground fire"?
C&B and Flamethrower clearly change the flames color when aiming at the floor, but it doesn't happen with Flareguns, Shootie or heck even the Molotovs which one could swear is 100% ground fire, i think not even the Microwave gun can use these new flames which are only enabled for C&B and Flamethrower after using that perk bonus so, what is the game considering a ground fire? are any flames on the ground counted as ground fires or just those who spawn blue flames? if it's the later thats a pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥ perk bonus

Flamethrower, CaB, Microwave gun.

FT and CaB have the same ground fire, Microwave does 10 more dps.
My guess is ground fire should just be any surface that can be walked on that's on fire, at least that's how it should work.

The best way to tell if its ground fire is to have the ground fire talent. Then it'll be a very bright blue. Thats ground fire.

Well the Trench Gun doesn't leave ground fire behind to begin with, so that makes sense.

But I do find it strange neither the Spitfires nor the Moltovs benefit from this skill.

i have the bonus, i can't tell the difference that's why i have this doubt, i'm also uncertain of lit dead zeds also count as ground fires

Spitfires don't have ground fire. It has its own residual flame mechanic.

Ground Fires seems to be an inconsistent, unclear and all around lame bonus, which is a shame because the few premise it shows looks quite useful, at the range that C&B, FT and Microwave gun can shot to the ground, you are better off directly firing at the Zeds and dealing much more damage

this is just not true, ground fire does a LOT more damage than directly shooting the zeds when you have the ground fire talent

to answer previous questions: the caulk n burn, flamethrower, and mircrowave gun all create ground fire that gets buffed by the talent, and burning dead zeds do not count as ground fire

As the other guy said, that is not correct. Especially with the first two weapons, ground fire exceeds the direct damage. Ideal firebug play would entail aiming at their legs for direct damage and to generate ground fire.

Im pretty sure that molotovs benefit from ground fire.It makes the flames last longer and it adds flares(not sure).

the flares are there from the start, i still can't figure out at all if molotovs benefit from the perk
