Why boomstick isn't popular ?

most people keep the boomstick since the combat shotgun is outperformed in trash clearing by the aa12 and outperformed in giant killing by the boomstick.

At level 15+ you can carry the AA12 + auto-shotgun, which is the loadout I prefer over the broomstick. The AA12 kills the large Zed's and the auto can kill the trash.

You can use the AA12 to kill trash and then use the boomstick instead for the large Zed's. Just preference really, but I'd say more people like the AA12 for the large-zed role.

When you max Support, you'll have 20 weight, enough to carry the AA12, double-barrel and pump action. This is probably the best load-out because the pump action can kill trash efficiently

Pretty much all the good supports I know take DBS + AA12. DBS is best for SC and alt-fire jumping away from danger, and AA12 is best for FP. I pretty much only take the combat shotgun if im just messing around on hard or playing solo since you don't need the AA12 in solo IMO

The effective range of boomstick isn't favorable... to me, that is.
When a large group of large zeds appear, I can always AA12 them.
If there's only one big zed, M1014 is enough to take care of it.

The boom stick has its advantages and its disadvantages, just like any other weapon. One advantage is its damage, one disadvantage is the range. Some people like to keep their distance (which i dont understand why you picked the class with shotguns then), other people get up close an personol. It's just personal preference.

The boomstick is imho, hands down, one of the best weapons in the whole game.

It holds a lot of ammo and ammo management is easy when you know what you are doing.

It provides mobility with it's double jumps.

And it provides huge damage output by unloading both barrels.

It makes it one of the very few must-have offperks for me and I hope everyone sees this becuase, it is very underrated and not very used. Trust me, once you get used to it, you won't be going back to the m4.

It really sucks at trash clearing. If the distance is a little bit longer, sometimes I even need 4 shots to kill one siren (suicide+). It matters to me because I don't use AA12 for trash clearing.

Sirens are a small target, so its really up to rng sometimes

You must be doing something wrong.

I can oneshot sirens and bloats offperk even on HoE with players (didn't test how many though)

It can trash clean very well becuase it has more pellets meaning it has higher CC potential and each pellet does high damage.

This means that you can also conserve your ammo becuase you use fewer shots to kill more zeds. Just use it wisely and efficently and you will realise how great it is.

I can one shot sirens too if I literally stick my gun in their face. And I can do that with M1014 in that range too.
If you line up trashes, you can one shot 5 to 6 of them with M1014, even some in the mid range because of its effective range.

honestly I hate the boomstick... however it doesn't stop me from using it because it is an extremely effective weapon. it is light weight, low cost, high damage, good utility. It is even a very effectiv off perk backup weapon for a demo or medic.

Actually, the m4 should be not that popular (if you usually play on suicidal/hoe games) because the boomstick outclasses the m4 in different ways. Even though the M4 has its own advantages, the boomstick is literally above the m4. Most experienced players prefer this because it helps you get away without risking your health from any zed including raging sc or fp while using the boomstick's alt fire. Also, you can sometimes knockdown any zed including the boss if you can alt fire the boomstick right through their face.

Technically, the boomstick should be tier 3 in this game while the m4 should be tier 2.
