That's a title of an article, not my idea. Metal is considered to be a musical genre. What you are talking about are sub-genres. They are still in the same pool. It's certanly not a terrible generalization.

That's a title of an article, not my idea. Metal is considered to be a musical genre. What you are talking about are sub-genres. They are still in the same pool. It's certanly not a terrible generalization.

Oh but it is terrible because there are bands that sing about angst, despair type ♥♥♥♥ like slipknot, and on the other side you have bands that sing about mythological stories and people.
Just because they both belong to the same genre does not mean they are similiar in any way.
