Step 1: don't backpedal; knowing what's ahead of you and dealing with it is more important than thinning the hoard behind you.
Step 2: don't stop in corridors; if you want to thin the hoard or heal, wait until you reach an open area so you have some wiggle room, and even then don't stop moving and turn to keep running after a few seconds.
Step 3: as stated at the end of the last step, keep moving; most zed spawn groups can be easily maneuvered around with a short burst of fire or a couple melee bashes, only unload one or two shots, and keep sprinting.
Step 4: probably the most important part, know your route; most maps have a few options for kiting, and knowing where ammo packs and zeds can spawn is a must, so explore the maps when you can to find the right paths.
Thanks for the tips!!!, I will think twice about reloading and healing now, before reading your tips i was just spamming syringes and the reload button, thanks
I was playing in contention outpost (I do not know the name of th map in english since I got it translated from the spanish), suicidal, gunslinger level 14, solo, everything goes as planned, wave 9/10, 20 zeds left, a good ammount of ammo left, until a fleshpound gets triggered and well, time to run, I checked the hallway 2 seconds ago for any zeds., none, so ok time to run, 3 sirens and one husk spawning next to the door instantly, git gud game over, For me the spawning system of the zeds is analyzing the escape route of the player and spawn a bunch of zeds between the player (Point A) and the estimated destination (Point B)., it is like playing slenderman all over again with slenderman teleporting 2 inches from your back and slenderman carrying a flamethrower.
Devs should at least forbid spawning in areas that you had vision on 2 secs ago.
Solo SS: teammates need aid -> Look at the long empty corridor you are guarding -> turn back with railgun -> get interrupted and killed by the zeds that magically appear right behind.
