Hm yea I can check my server history that's true. I keep thinking about that server, they wanted to kick me right away but that was understandable as it showed me as Level 0 in an HoE server lol. Thanks for the suggestion.
I can't say for sure but the first server that pops up in my history is this one which is set to private, I've never joined a passworded KF2 server before so it must have changed.
At the time I joined HoE, the server name says "Normal" and currently playing on Hard so they're changing the difficulty around. Hard to say if it's the same HoE server I last joined or not.
Is this a custom server?

EDIT: ok...just quit steam and loaded back in, loaded up KF2, all my perks are back. That was scary.
could be that the problem happens, steam trys to connect to retrive the cloud data, and something happens during that time which leaves an blank slate?
or the game is exited and restarted so quickly steam doesnt have an chance with steamcloud to update the data, or retrive it.
so then when the games started again then exited it takes the glitched data and uploads that to cloud.
You are welcome :-)
So this corruption case seems to be pretty rare... that would explain why TWI has not yet adressed it formally and why it is such a "non-issue".
I can imagine that this corruption condition would need a close cooperation between TWI and the technical Steam Support and maybe such an effort is not viable for these very few cases.
Before you give up completely on future games from TWI you could wait for some time after the release and search the forum for corruption cases.
Maybe this issue is KF2 exclusive.
Or maybe this issue is affecting the whole Steam network and hasn't received much publicity because it's widely scattered with only a few cases in every Steam game... what a scary thought
As always, if you guys ever need additional support please fill out a support ticket here http://support.tripwireinteractive.com/User/Login
Did you use either the TRUE or FALSE flag after the resetstats "steamname" command? I'm getting conflicting reports from users, and in 1 steam post even TWI staff have said that it does wipe acheivements as well.
Thank you for the response. Could you confirm for me what the resetstats "steamname" wipes, if that includes achievements and if the TRUE/FALSE flags alters that behavior at all?
There is conflicting reports from all users on what it actually resets. The KF2 support page that instructs people to use it also fails to mention what it does and does not reset.
some unlock a few, then a few more, over time.
plus giving the idea of using achivements as proof if this was accepted then scammers would be hacking there achivements for chance of an fastpass to max levels.
but yeah there is various people who hack achivements making them worthless.
whenever you find a new release, check the achivements and ull see some already having them all. stinks but happens throwing the achivement stats off global wise.
Wait, can you confirm when it happens to someone? Or are you just going off their reports? Becuase if its the former, surely you can just restore their levels to at least the number (if not the progress within that level) that they were at prior to the stat failure?
^this. I wouldn't play KF if it wasn't for the grind for nearly as much time becuase there is no other end-game (though I would love a prestige system). If people want to cheat their way to 25, I don't see how that puts other players at any 'disadvantage'. It's not like there is some 'competitive edge' to it; its coop... and if its truly a 'rare' problem, so what if you let the 5 players that got screwed over by a glitch get ahead; at least they'd still want to play.
