Game crashes when loading new shard

Game is crashing when trying to load a new shard in campaign mode. I tried to attack different masters or attack an available shard but the game is still crashing.

I'm in the same boat and I think a lot of other people are too. I've not found anything to really address it, unfortunately.

This may sounds crazy, but try this :

1. In main menu, create a custom shard game. Default setting.
2. Enter custom shard game.
3. Pass one turn.
4. Return to main menu.
5. Load your saved game.
6. Try to attack a shard.

I had an issue where, when attacking a shard, I got an Access Violation error and crash after I passed the first turn. I gave a shot to this workaround and suddenly my problem was fixed.

Maybe this wont fix your issue, but hey, it's worth giving a try!
