Guide to the game?
Hello, is there a walkthrough or advice area for the game, such as what all the symbols on research/production and stuff and how to do things?

Hi!
Recently @MoisTeaGaming did a very nice video series on Youtube.

If you have any special question please post it here and I'll be happy to answere.

Ok, I will check it out.

Are there other keyboard controls other than the mouse controls?

Where is the save file kept? I found the mods folder, just wondered where the saved data goes.

The important ones are "esc" for going back to the map, "shift" for setting waypoints on the map, "plus" and "minus" for game speed, "wasd" scroll the map.

They should be there...AppData\Roaming\Godot\app_userdata\Skies above the Great War

Thank you, that is invaluable info to have! I suck as a pilot so far, so knowing about those controls could really help. I may have to let my AI pilots do most of the work. Is there a key to switch between pilots during a fight, or to "ride along" and watch them rather than fly yourself?

Hmm, I don't see a date display for how much time/days have elapssed in the war as time passes. Am I missing it somehow?

Also, is there a limit to how long the war lasts, or a victory score to reach? Personally I like a long campaign, but not sure how to influence that.

Is there a way to be notified when one of my pilots dies, or a log or some other way to check on that?

During the flight you can press right mouse to toggle between flight mode and menu mode. Im menu mode you see arrows on the screen to switch between the pilots in the squad.

A spectator mode is not included so far.

Btw. with the mouse wheel you can adjust the speed of the aircraft.

I experimented with showing the date somehow. But as there are no day/night cycles or seasons it felt weird.
Although there is a timer for the war and you can influence the outcome with your overall performance.

While on the map there are info inserts for important events on the bottom left of your screen.

Thank you for the help!

Is the end date / timer included in any of the data/starting files?

I've already been playing around with those files, and editing pilot names in my savegames, adding real pilot names from some Jasta/KEK books I have for a bit of realistic flavor in my German campaign.

I intend to leave a positive review soon. The closest game I've seen to this is the old Achtung Spitfire/Over the Reich games from some 25 years ago, though the battles in there were turn based (which I did enjoy). Anyone know of any strategy games like Skies, for either WW! or WW2?

Yes, it is the value "war_timer" in the starting_conditions.json. By default it starts at 0 and the game ends at 250. (it represents minutes in game)

In the game_values.json the factor "time_speed_factor" is responsible for how fast the war timer runs.

Highly welcome :)

The only game I know is Battlestations: Midway. I took a lot of inspiration from it in terms of gameplay. It is still great to play.
What is the computer icon you can toggle on/off for a squadron in map view? (under the flag, above ammo and fuel)

If it is activated the squadron/airfield or management part (production or pilot training) will be controlled by ai, so you can focus on something else. But you can still give them orders.

I've just bought this game and I completely confused by it. Not helped by the lack of contrast between text and background on the UI btw. Black on Brown is a bad combination for people with poor eyesight like me.

Anyway, is there a Game Manual or Guide that tells one how to play anywhere?
Most of the videos I've watched just involve someone flying around in circles shooting stuff, and I'm hoping there is more to this game than just that.

Good point. I made a post with all the tutorial texts. Hope this helps...
