Quake II never did. I just find it weird that you are able to freely save the game where and whenever you want, but there's some kind of arbitrary limit to how many saves you can have. In the early days, this might have had something to do with available memory or what have you, but surely this isn't a problem anymore nowadays?
Is that a console thing? I'm not good with the console
You can bind it to some key (checkout bindlist output before):
bind f6 "save name"
bind f11 "load name"
