Can you bunny hop in Quake 2?
Maybe I'm doing it wrong but I can't seem to bunny hop in Quake 2 like in Quake. I'm trying to air strafe and it isn't doing anything.

Among other asinine changes like lowering the railgun damage and adding a sound from Quake 3 when you switch weapons, you can no longer bunny hop in the KEX port, no.

In Quake 2 you have to strafe jump. Q2 doesn't share the same exact movement as Q1.

You can shamble forward in a straight line rapidly by flicking left and right with each jump, but can't change directions properly since there's no air control.

Very easy to use while also really hard to adjust to if you're used to games that have actual bunnyhopping.

yeah escpecially around corners you have to slow down a bit, make the turn and then start jumping again. With enough practice you will lose barely any speed. It takes a lot getting used to :D

Quake 2 hast the same movement like Quake 3.

In the remaster, is the bunny hopping or any of the movement changed from original Quake 2? If so, how? I'm compiling a list and this is an important thing. :summercrab2023:

The only thing I noticed so far is that they disabled strafe jumping in the N64 campaign. No idea if it was actually possible in that game but trying to strafe jump with a N64 controller would be an absolute nightmare lol.
