Fire up CTF via LAN or Local, open the console and just type addbot and add as many as you want. The bots do roam around the CTF maps, the devs just didn't have enough time for QA so the bots support for CTF wasn't fully completed, as the bots dont really know how to capture the flags.
However, if we do get a patch for the game, they will finish implementing bot support for CTF as well (confirmed by dev on Night Dive discord). Its still a blast for me in CTF to play vs them even if they can't cap flags yet :)
Does anyone know if the devs are still working on a patch to include bot support for CTF maps?
They could have just let us use existing mods like Eraser but nope, Had to implement their own bots halfway and not have it working well into the rerelease being forced on us.
Using someone else's work without permission can be illegal depending on the type of license it was released under. Furthermore, Quake 2 mods and such are old, and being able to reach the authors is not guaranteed.
It's the same reason why Arcane Dimensions or other mods are not part of the Quake 1 Remaster's repository. You're free to use the old Quake 2 Clients to run Eraser Bot.
Unfortunately that does not include the additions of Rerelease.
