Quake 2 Remaster - PSX Jam 1 Release
Paril’s amazing Quake II PSX mod deserves more content so naturally our Map-Center community did just that. Get ready to play 11 brand new missions, each with their own opening cutscene and progress through the hub to unlock a custom boss. Prepare to enjoy a lot of additional content while you mow down over 900 Strogg. Lock and load people!

Normally we posted this under addons since it was mostly a collection of additional maps connected to a hub. However, we've stepped up our game and this marks our first mod release on ModDB. Screenshots, a trailer and an announcement article are all included. Go check it out here:

I'm happy to read that! I hope you have a lot of with it!

Much thanks to the people behind this pack. As with the previous Map Center jams, there were some great maps in this one too. I enjoyed detrohogga's, emeraldtiger's and icoshee's most. Hopefully there will be more PSX (and N64) styled jams in the future, as I dig the simple and colourful aesthetics of the console ports.

Keep up the good work!

Thank you! We plan on rotating N64 en PSX Jams each year, meaning next year we'll do another N64 Jam.
Cool, anything I should need before hand, what is the recommended source port?

It's specifically made for the Quake 2 Remaster. It won't work properly with other source ports. Although Q2REPRO should work as well.
Sorry for the necro but finally beat Call of the Machine so I decided to take a victory lap playing this jam.

It kicks ass, I cannot recommend this enough. The maps and PSX aesthetics are beautiful.
I really dig the compress actions of these maps. After going thought the expansions and a few mods I can say Quake 2 is possibly the most overlooked game of all times.

Thank you for making this jam, it rules.

You're welcome and there will be more to come in the future!

Sorry to be a bother, everything was peachy but I am running into this issue where the game does not want to load the jam anymore and I was already halfway through
It says can't find psxjam1_start.bsp
I have no idea what happened it was working fine the first time

Something is up with the installation guide because I get the same exact issue.

The only way this jam ever seems to work for me is to start a regular game of Quake 2, enter
"set game psxjam1; set skill 3" in console, exit out to the main menu, and THEN it will finally let me see my actual savegames for the jam.

Likewise, unlike the other jams, nothing appears in level select or mod list either.

In what directory have you placed the mod?

I tried the saved games directory and when that did not work I tried the installation folder
Users\ME\Saved Games\Nightdive Studios\Quake II
and also the game directory using
Steam\steamapps\common\Quake 2\rerelease

I get the maps to work once but never end up loading as a mod.
I often get "can't find psxjam1_start.bsp"

c/users/<owner>/Saved Games/Nightdive Studios/Quake2

That's also where I have torturejam, same issues.

Meanwhile sewerjam doesn't have this issue, with the difference being I have the .pak file in my baseq2 folder under the same directory (c/users/<owner>/Saved Games/Nightdive Studios/Quake2/baseq2).

Well you hit the nail on that one.
Follow the official instructions from the install.html and then copy the jam pak file into the baseq2 directory.

It fixed the issue
