Keep up the good work!
Thank you! We plan on rotating N64 en PSX Jams each year, meaning next year we'll do another N64 Jam.
It's specifically made for the Quake 2 Remaster. It won't work properly with other source ports. Although Q2REPRO should work as well.
It kicks ass, I cannot recommend this enough. The maps and PSX aesthetics are beautiful.
I really dig the compress actions of these maps. After going thought the expansions and a few mods I can say Quake 2 is possibly the most overlooked game of all times.
Thank you for making this jam, it rules.
You're welcome and there will be more to come in the future!
Sorry to be a bother, everything was peachy but I am running into this issue where the game does not want to load the jam anymore and I was already halfway through
It says can't find psxjam1_start.bsp
I have no idea what happened it was working fine the first time
Something is up with the installation guide because I get the same exact issue.
The only way this jam ever seems to work for me is to start a regular game of Quake 2, enter
"set game psxjam1; set skill 3" in console, exit out to the main menu, and THEN it will finally let me see my actual savegames for the jam.
Likewise, unlike the other jams, nothing appears in level select or mod list either.
In what directory have you placed the mod?
I have the same question for you, in what directory have you placed the mod?
Users\ME\Saved Games\Nightdive Studios\Quake II
and also the game directory using
Steam\steamapps\common\Quake 2\rerelease
I get the maps to work once but never end up loading as a mod.
I often get "can't find psxjam1_start.bsp"
That's also where I have torturejam, same issues.
Meanwhile sewerjam doesn't have this issue, with the difference being I have the .pak file in my baseq2 folder under the same directory (c/users/<owner>/Saved Games/Nightdive Studios/Quake2/baseq2).
Well you hit the nail on that one.
Follow the official instructions from the install.html and then copy the jam pak file into the baseq2 directory.
It fixed the issue
