No PlayStation controller icons???

UPDATE: Here's the workaround that I now use that eventually got everything to work

DS4 = Dualshock 4. It's the official ps4 controller.

My settings that eventually got it work.... most of the time (I'll get to that)

Steam - Settings - Controller - PlayStation Controller Support Enabled
Steam - Settings - Controller - Xbox Extended Feature Support Driver UNINSTALLED
Right click game name - Properties - Controller - Disable Steam Input

RESTART PC

I have my controller plugged in via a usb cable (haven't tested with bluetooth yet)
When I first turn on my computer, I can start Steam and launch the game and I get PlayStation icons. This works 100% of the time when I start the game for the first time.
BUT, if I stop the game, and then start it back up (without restarting my pc), then there's like a 50% chance it won't work. I'd need to restart my computer to get it working again.

I use a DS4 controller. 2k23 recognizes it as so and all of the prompts are right, but 2k24 does not. Heck... I just started both games and yeah, the main menu for 2k23 has all controller icons but 24 doesn't.

on the library page of the game itself, on the top right corner underneath the banner is a controller icon. disable steam input from there, not from the steam settings menu

Using a PS3 controller and DS4Windows with dshidmini (emulating a PS4 controller), I have the Dualshock buttons; I just disabled Steam Input and launched from the game's folder

Doesn't work for me, weirdly the reversal prompts above people's heads are blank unless I enable steam input lol

For me it seems to go back and forth. Sometimes it'll show the regular Xbox icons and other times it'll show PS ones.

I use a PS5 controller. The game natively supports it, but it's still weird about it.

I don't know what witchcraft ya'll are using, but I can't even get the game to get past the opening "press any button" page w/out steam input enabled

Library > WWE 2K24 > Manage > Properties > Controller > Disable Steam Input

Those are my settings and it shows PlayStation prompts for my PS5 controller.

PS5 Controller showing XBOX Buttons????

Devs, please address this issue, this problem carried over from 2K23 to 2K24. This only happens when playing WWE2K games. If anyone knows the fix please post it. I read there was an old fix to "disable PS controller support" but can't find the option. Shouldn't it be as simple as plug and play? If we use a PS controller, the game should show PS buttons.

Thanks for the message, I tried that, it still shows XBOX buttons. This happens when I first run the game, then if I restart the game entirely, the controller no longer works for the game. It's completely unresponsive. This happens now with WWE 2K23 also. The same problem now with 2K23. I'm thinking the problem originated with 2K24

If it's happening on other games, I doubt it's 2k24 that caused it... you need to fix your settings... Also, do you have a XBOX Controller or any other controller you use? do you have any controller apps?... anyone of those things can be causing a miss communication with your controller settings in steam.

To be clear I'm not telling you to use another controller. I'm saying I think you may have another controller interfering with steam, or a controller app, or maybe your PS5 controller is not working right.
