1) True ending: All resident quests are cleared, reach the "Realm of Hagenith" (last floor of the Realm of death) and select the "Stop Hagenith" option.
After defeating Hagenith you will unlock Dayna's and Hagenith's essence of memory.
2) Normal ending: Resident quests are not fully cleared, reach the "Realm of Hagenith" (last floor of the Realm of death) and select the "Stop Hagenith" option.
After defeating Hagenith you will unlock only Dayna's essence of memory.
3) Bad ending: Resident quests can either be fully cleared or not, reach the "Realm of Hagenith" (last floor of the Realm of death) and select the "Restrain Dayna" option.
There won't be a final battle.
After reloading your save file, you will be completely trapped inside "Thanatos", you can't use the "give up" option, you can't fall outside the map and you can't use the portal on the right.
According to your description, it looks like you unlocked the normal ending.
In order to unlock the true ending you must start a new game / create a new save file.
I suggest you start a new game in "Sandbox mode", all main residents will be already unlocked (Mei, Nik01, Stein, Eloney, Apis and Kukul).
After creating a new save file, i suggest you keep a backup copy of your save file (in case you want to see different endings, but with the same save file).
You will find your current save file in:
%appdata% \ LocalLow \ NINEHECTARE \ Gray Haven
Your save file is stored in a folder called:
Profile1: Here is stored Save file #1
Profile2: Here is stored Save file #2
Profile3: Here is stored Save file #3
Also, if for example, you started a new save file only in the first save file slot (so Profile1 folder), keep in mind you can "duplicate" your save file.
Go to the Gray Haven folder, create a new folder, rename it Profile2 and paste all the Profile1 files inside Profile2.
Upon opening the game, you will notice that you will be able to load two save files.
