That being said... there's a dude that has posted a download link for a CD image of the Quake soundtrack (and one of the mission-pack soundtracks) here: http://steamcommunity.com/app/2310/discussions/0/882966056497559791/ and also on a thread on the old Steam forums. Apparently id/Bethesda or Valve have never raised a ruckus about it.
Once you have a CD image there's various things you can do with it. In any case you'll need some program like DAEMON Tools Lite or Virtual Clone Drive to make it look like a "real CD". Then you're good to go... you can either have the soundtrack play "normally" as CD audio like in the old days, or rip the tracks to music files and use them with a modern Quake engine. Check this guide for more info about how you can use the soundtrack: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=119489135
You can also find links to ripped OGG or MP3 versions of the Quake soundtrack if you search around. And if you download either "Quake HD" or the "Ultimate Quake patch" then those packages also include ripped soundtrack music files (along with the DarkPlaces engine and other stuff).
P.S. The DarkPlaces engine included in the "Ultimate Quake Patch" is getting to be old-ish by now; if you're ever in the mood to update it (get some better performance and bugfixes) you can get the latest version from http://icculus.org/twilight/darkplaces/download.html ... look for the section on that page that is for "Latest stable/official release".
