Can't run FTEQW
As the title says. I try to run it, but it crashes. I downloaded it from this guide: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=667925210 tried that, it crashed, then I tried This website[fte.triptohell.info], Norton said it was a malicious, but I went to it anyway, and it redirects me to a Yahoo bootleg site, THEN I tried downloading it from SourceForge[sourceforge.net].... When I downloaded it from SourceForge, I didn't even know what THAT mess of files was in there... Anybody know what's up??

Assuming you're on 64-bit Windows 10, drop the latest fteqw64.exe from http://fte.triptohell.info/downloads into C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\quake rename it to Winquake.exe (backup your original first) and just start Quake from Steam using the default option.

But I tried that, and norton messes it up... Could you upload it to Google Drive or something? I really want to play this... :steamsad:

You can use virustotal.com to verify the executable, and report the false positive to Norton before you switch to a free scanner like Windows Defender or Avira, or simply disable Norton while you put the exe there and run it for the first time.

You could also try https://ezquake.github.io/ but that comes with a bunch of multiplayer-only stuff like a Quake 3 style HUD. Only using the exe as above will work fine, but to get the underwater caustics effect you may wish to copy the ezquake folder as well, and delete the hud.pk3 and other stuff you don't like.

Noo! That's not what I mean! Norton ConnectSafe blocks the site entirely, and you can't turn Norton ConnectSafe off at all! Wait... Maybe you can... I'll try it

Also, Norton Antivirus blocks malicious downloads, meanwhile ConnectSafe blocks bad websites in general.

And no, I checked, I cannot turn Norton ConnectSafe off...

Sounds like parental controls. Anyway, the latest 64-bit FTE is here: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1HczMtYLoB9DswdsZm09pxe68Ljd3O0Fo
