New distortion zones a little overdone?
is it just me or does it seem like there are a TON of these zones?! I was kinda hoping of maybe a handful of them but holy crap! I tried the beta last night on the peninsula area and they were EVERYWHERE!! Maybe because i'm at SL 4 (I hit a bug somewhere) but even then! Between them, the added number of anomalies, and the upped enemy counts, it really feels like a slog IN THE STARTING AREA!! Anyone else running across this as well or do I just have bad luck?! lol

Yeah, it's a big immersion killer for me...biggest attraction of these games is the eerie landscape and now it has red blobs every few meters

I'm kinda indifferent to the red blobs but I'll agree, there should definitely be less of them

It is the first iteration of it. I would assume it will change, or I hope at least

here's hoping it changes

I had to start a new game with the beta and at first I didn't know what you were talking about because I hadn't encountered a single one and was half way across the forest map. So they either updated it with a patch or they all just suddenly appear when you get past a certain quest because you're right they're everywhere now. Not a fan of them all over the place. Also it seems to have given me a massive performance hit for some reason. I'm all for variety for anomalies, but having red splotches all over the place just looks weird. I figured they'd be like the gas zones from ITR1

I don't feel like they're too much of an obstacle, and I prefer them to Reflectors being half burred in the dirt or behind something blasting me away suddenly.

They are large and they do stand out a lot though, so it feels like they're a lot more "present" than the other anomalies are.

I don't like them either. There are too many of them, and they take away a lot of mystique. They also ruin the scenery.
I think one is enough for a peninsula the size of it.

I agree as well, Into the Radius is known for its immersion and the giant red blotches everywhere definitely cut it in half. Make them rare/scarce and only occur in mid-late game areas would be so much better. Lots of bugs, including not being able to open chocolate bars, can't use the lighter on shard anomaly clusters, all the price/level tags under weapons, ammo, and attachments will occasionally load with no text on them, not to mention not being able to take the cigarette butt out your own mouth until loading an area. Lots of immersion breakers comes with this beta so hopefully they really tune it out.

Oh I'm sure, and they're probably so numerous because they want us to interact with so they can learn from it and improve them as part of the beta...but a bit of feedback never hurts :D

They should also have a reason to be there, set an item in the middle that you need to obtain for a mission or something.

I noted this for the devs in the feedback in the beta 0.12 thread

I thought these distortion zones would be additional zones to the existing ones and not some red bubbles randomly placed on the map. I think a better idea would be to bring back the gas anomalies, add a gas mask and artifacts with unique properties like they were in ITR 1. Personally, I don't like these distortion zones and I was less immersed seeing them.

My main complaint with them is the pop in.

I agree, the fade in is a little immersion breaking
