Has uh... anyone felt like the Dev teams Kinda walked away from this? Last update was a few months ago and much of the game... well it feels lackluster. No idea what they are choosing to use their time on but into the radius 2 Still needs work. The gun walls not complete in the slightest, re-playability is non existent, And the game needs more options to end game.

Saving grace. Modder's. My last playthrough was enjoyable because I modded the hell out of it to make the game feel like a mixture of Stalker, Metro, and Chernobelite. Better movement, more speed, better gun play, functional artifices that do things instead of just being cash to exchange.

Issue is. Because the mods do a lot of the heavy lifting to make the game enjoyable. Any and every update the game has gotten or will get breaks them. That's nothing new. What is new is people's limb stick attitude to people that do a job better then you. it use to be. Game comes out, has an open source to allow modders to make things, those games still have community's and players and a fandom to this day. (Skyrim, Fallout, HLA, Mech Worrier 5) So on.

Now its "Mod's are unhealthy for a games life span." "Mods Ruin a Dev's image for a game." "Mods take money out of the Dev teams hands."

Uh... well. The last one's likely true, more re-playability. less copies sold but. Could sell a lot more with opening up full mod support and letting the community make the game into its own. make its own joined world spaces, let people craft things along side the game... then the copies would also sell well.

All and all I don't recommend the game as it stands now. because its very dry an experience. one single exposure to a new system then its gone, never used again in the same way threw the rest of the game. Also, not a fan of NPC 'friend' guy story arch.

In general the game is really fun, I absolutely love(!) the possibilities of customizing my gear and weapons. Also the general Armory-Shopping approach, being able to test and play around, awesome, really really fun! There are a few really annoying things though, fortunately most of them can be adapted/configured in the settings/difficulty settings.

But on top of that, my major pain points:
* Travelling. It feels like I'm spending half of the time travelling, obviously mostly in the late game. But travelling is super boring, takes a lot of time and resources and just isn't fun if you run back to the base from the third zone the fith time, it's really driving me turning the game off. It would probably already enough if the last zone had a direct connection to the base, just like the rest. Having a classical "fast travel" thing for the shelters (so you need to activate them first by travelling there) would probably be awesome. Or maybe a "home portal", Diablo style, I don't know
* Outside of my base/shelter I should not easily lose equipment. I cannot stress this enough. I had a find artifact mission in the last zone. Somewhere on the way I lost my artifact detector and only noticed until at the spot. I takes ~20 minutes to run back to base and come back (see first point).
* Weapons wear down too fast, even set to the lowest, I cannot use the 7 mags for G36 I carry with me without the gun going down into red state. Yes, weapons do need a lot of maintenance in the real world, but it's just not fun to cancel a ~6 mission run on the half to seek for a shelter to repair the gun. I should be able to make "one run" (so like this 6 to 8 mission set) without major breakdowns, imo
* Having played Half Life Alyx, general handling feels really awkward, I'd say. The body looks off, *always*. Imo I should see my hands and my gear, no body, specifically no arms. Get rid of it.
* The night is too long, should be more of northern summer day: dusk at 23, dark at 24, dawn at 04, all visible at 05, you get the idea

Anyways, that's just what I'd change. Really a fun game, can recommend. Although I'd not spent more than 25€ on it. But below, get it!

The game is straight peak with friends, we were always lollygagging and acting like dumb dumbs. Also the games guns feel so good and customization feels nice, also to those complaining about performance either your computer is geeked or your putting it to max settings which in that case is fair.
