At the moment we're planning to go through Early Access with ITR2, and while we want to bring the game to multiple platforms, we need to finish it first, so all news will have its time. Stay tuned ;)

My best guess is that it'll have a Quest port after a year or two, just like what happened with ITR1. It'll depend on economics (sales) and how efficient the game engine is on the Q2/Q3 hardware. I vastly perfer the PC version to the Quest version, but if your PC isn't up to it, the Quest version gets almost all of the gameplay mechanics right, and the graphics are okay.

Depending on how long development takes Q4 may be out by then. Also, might not have Q2 support as Q2 would be several years old by then.

judging by how i want the graphics to look i doubt i want quest 3 release. Let alone Quest 2 release.
I want to use my 4090 FFS

full release is expected to be 2025, quest port would likely come out 2026-2027. the quest 2 will likely be at least 2 generations old by then. sooo... i wouldn't hold your breath

The quest headsets have sold a HECK ton more than any VR platform ever so I see them porting it just so they don't miss out on that market. PCVR is pretty small and niche in comparison so making a fully fleshed out game for just PCVR really isn't cost effective anymore.

The only reason I hope it DOESN'T go Quest is because of how badly games are downgraded for those headsets...

its 100% coming to quest, just not the quest 2, only quest 3 probably due to better hardware thats able to handle next gen stuff

PCVR will get its full version. the downgrade is only for quest users.

Possible quest 3 port might be a bit better, just have toned down graphics for the quest 2

I have a quest 2 but I use the wireless steam link. Would mine need a specific quest 2 port to work?

I have both a Q2 and Q3, and the standalone version of the current ITR is smart enough to recognize the difference in headsets and adjust accordingly (I think it is the same software install but there are triggers to use extra assets if it detects the Q3). I imagine that Meta has some sort of policy in place to ensure that devs don't abandon the Q2 too quickly by requiring that the software run on either headset. I think MS has this policy for the Xbox X/S situation, which is similar to the Q2/Q3 one with regards to capabilities.

I imagine the ITR 2 poert will be similar... If you have a Q2, lower fidelity assets will load, but it'll be the same install as the Q3.

If you are running the PC version over steam link you your headset, it won't matter if you have a Q2 or a Q3
I think it'll release on quest 2 but they're most definitely going to have to dim down the graphics by a lot, probably to the point of it being very similar to the first one but with the addition of new stuff it would still be worth it
