Spelunky was directly inspired by La-Mulana, though as you probably already know, it's a roguelike.
Yume Nikki scratches a similar exploration itch, though it's a top-down RPG Maker game, not a platformer.
Fear and Hunger is another RPG Maker game but the deep lore and brutal puzzle solving and difficulty are kind of appealing in the same way.
I made a puzzle game, Solumnoid[treehann.itch.io], which is like a streamlined version of La-Mulana's block puzzles. Very peaceful with a gentle difficulty curve compared to La-Mulana.
Lastly, one of my favorite puzzle platformers of all time is the indie classic Within a Deep Forest (have to scroll down here[nifflas.ni2.se]), which has unique physics and delightful exploration and puzzles.
This Reddit thread also has some recs.
