Not to tell that some of our standard melee specimens can put to shame most of acrh melee weapons in terms of size XD You should check Zenistar with Dominion skin, it's a sight to behold.
But for the fun aspect - i'm all up for it. If it's gonna be the case, they better give those weapons "special space sword" melee stance, and since its gonna be hard to make em feel more powerfull than current melees, at least make them feel unique and add some distinct properties.
i have this idea for a new Necramech that is the faster version of them that for its 4 lets it equip the archmelees. its the smallest but fastest/
a gauss equivalent for necramechs
"I'm very excited now. The anticipation. Ooh."
i believe its called warframes
Plus, weapons don't need to always be the best in slot, being good enough to work in steel path up to like level 400 is generally way more than enough, it doesn't need to be able to melt 9999s because nobody does that anyways outside of stress testing builds to their maximum extent or making youtube videos.
Plus, people want to slam giant powerfists that need gravimags to even be wieldable by frame hands into corpus skulls and I think that's just in the spirit of warframe period.
