TL:DR: You are bad. X)
normal boar. prime boar sucks. priee tigris sucks too. cus boar is best obvsly
Not really, OP is far too stupid for that. He likely doesn't even own a Tigris prime and just sees people talking about non-stop, and wants to seem cool.
If I do not like to use a gun due to its mechanism it does not mean the gun is inherently bad and vice versa.
With the mods and status effects it lets the player modify things to suit their play preference and really build things for specific roles if they so choose.... it's brilliant!
Yes, corrosive procs are an option. But this usually becomes inefficient for high level content. This is because your best chance with stripping armor is a fast firing weapon with high status. Fast firing weapons typically deal low base damage and have poor ammo economy. So you're using a secondary for stripping (or sarpa), primary for damage and having to switch midway through while also trying to be aware of ammo usage on your secondary so you can strip armor from the next one. Sarpa removes the need for ammo awareness, but requires several bursts to strip armor while also keeping you from having a different melee weapon for easier clearing of weaker enemies.
Tigris has high damage and high status chance. This means that you can put corrosive on it and usually strip armor with the first shot, kill with the second shot. This gives you the freedom to use whatever you want for secondary and melee without losing your ability to destroy heavy armored targets.
It isn't the only way, far from actually, but it is the way to deal with higher level content when you don't have access to higher MR weapons and a wider variety of mods/rivens. This is why all the types of Tigris are seen as a good entry-level weapon for later content.
