Is ignis wraith any good for index?
Currently it's a corrosive element set up.

What kind of build would make ignis viable for index?
electric, radiation?

I prefer using super heavy few-shot weapons, but its probably viable with a corrosive/blast build, but probably not past low bet

none.

While it might be passable in lower index, the focused fire damage from it is not very good. For the index you normally need a weapon that deals a high amount of damage in a single hit due to the speed that broker shields tend to regenerate. Many rapid firing weapons can hit this point where you simply cannot lower a shield since it will immediately recover in full just in the time it takes to reload.

Ammo is the other problem. Weapons that have low ammo efficiency, such as Amprex, Soma, Baza, also means that you will have to continually pick up ammo for it during the match instead of killing. As you are mostly needing to unload several full clips into a single target to kill it, this greatly decreases your effectiveness.

Additionally, pure status/element weapons like the Arca Plasmor also tend to have a serious problem when it comes to heavy shields and robotics. Weapons with a physical component (slash or impact) tend to be useful against both armor, flesh, and robotic.

Tigris, Hek, Vectis, Khom, Rubico. These tend to be the best weapons for Index.

I run it in high end and it does a decent job. But I do have like 5 forma in it with a riven as well

It works somewhat well in the beginning of the match, but as the enemy level increases, the effectiveness really starts to taper off no matter how you have it modded.

Combustion Beam, a mod which makes the Ignis still effective against level 80+ enemies only does this by having several explosions from weaker enemies killing the stronger one. Against a single target, the damage doesn't hold out as well and tapers off when facing anything above level 60 with decent armor.

Enemies in index frequently have both fast recharging shields and armor, this scales as they level , and can be tested against by spawning a variety of brokers in the Simulacrum at level 100+. If any weapon takes more than 5 seconds of sustained fire to kill a level 120 broker, it is not sufficient for high index.

No. Use a Vaykor hek, Arca Plasmor or something equally as punchy

Just run an arca plasmor, literally one shots everything in low/medium risk and 2 shots almost everything in high risk + knocks anything back that isn't killed so they stand there and take the next shot without doing any damage to you.
