- Most the Similaris mods can sell for a decent amount of platinum.
Both are more useful than rolling the dice on a transmute. Even using only rare mods will usually just give you a stance mod that you've likely already picked up.
If you're jsut doing it for an achievement, go ahead, could save you some credits at least.
Don't expect to get anything awesome from 1 transmute though. Go ahead and pick the one for something you know you want and maybe the stars will align and RNGesus will be looking the other way and you'll get it or something else you didn't even know you wanted. More than likely though, you'll get something that you don't care for.
Transmute is rerally just there for an alternative for the people that are tired after thier 900th PoE incursion or 200th hour in Ophelia or 50,000th kubrow kill without getting the rare mod they want but refuse to trade someone plat for.

From my experience you only get 1 good mod in 100 transmutates and thats seriously not worth it time and credit wise
With the transmute cores there is no credit cost and it only takes a few seconds to click to transmute with piles upon piles of mods sitting in the mod station.
1 in 100 starts sounding pretty good after months of condition overload farming and / or PoE incursions.
Not that archwing rage / condition overload are worth plat to me, just completionist / hope melee 3.0 doesn't muck it up =-P
Heck, Bite might take an uptick in value with kubrow / kavat vacuum coming soon.
Buying cond. overload for 80plat (current avg prize in my region) from prime scrap is more time efficient than farming for transmute cores or the mod itself. (let that sink in...)
