Ember still worth it after the nerfs?
Hi!

I wanted to buy the Ember + Loki pack. But after the harsh nerfs to Ember I'm unsure if she is still worth the money. I could make good use of the Platin but when Ember is basically on Mag level aka barely playable beyond lvl40 I don't think it's worth it.

So what do you think? Ember new trash tier?

But it starts at 50%. so the truth is ember got a pretty hard nerf. she does the same damage as before, but it has to ramp up to it now, but at half the range and at higher energy costs.

Huh. seems to be right.

http://warframe.wikia.com/wiki/Ember/Patch_History

"World On Fire
5 seconds after casting, a percentage will begin counting up on the ability icon. As this percentage scales from 0% to 100% over 10 seconds, the ability’s energy cost and damage dealt both grow to double, while the ability radius shrinks to half. (final damage dealt will remain the same as before, starting from 200 and end at 400, instead of 400 for the entire duration)"

Guess that means it is a nerf then.

Edit:Nevermind. Turns out someone screwed with the wiki.

You clearly aren't very familiar with Mag, then.

Ember was changed - not nerfed - from what I heard. They're viable at high level now while not trvializing things at low level.

So... it depends if your priority was to overtrivialize an already trivial difficulty level or use her in a real battle.
Ember requires more managing right now, but her damage got buffed. I was leveling my Prime and I, for the first time, somewhat enjoyed it. New Emebr allows others to participate in what's going on instead of nuking the whole map alone

Every time a change is added people cry "nerf".

Ember was one of the most boring frames in the game. You literally press "4" and just run around doing nothing. Anyone who thinks that is a proper mechanic hasn't tried the other frames. She wasn't fun to play or to have in a group because she would melt everything which left the rest of the group running around doing nothing just like Ember.

DE and the players don't want brainless gameplay like old Ember. The only people who are mad at the changes are those who have a max range Ember they use to idle in missions. I personaly like the change because it's going to force people to learn how to play her differently, or to play other frames. That is the most important thing here, playing other frames rather than EVERYONE playing the same frame because of it's "no skill required" play style.

I hope they change Mesa next because she is one of the last "press 4 to win" frames and PoE is flooded with people using Mesa because she requires no skill to play. 8 out of 10 groups I join in PoE has 1+ Mesas shinch is a red flag for the developers.

Yeah I rarely use her Peacemaker now. Her staggering shield setup is probably one of the tankiest builds in this game and I don't see anyone playing this setup other than me. :(

But yeah,Ember is still worth it.

The only thing that wouldn't kinda hemmorage her in other scenarios would be giving peacemaker damage falloff. Which...come to think of it probably wouldn't be so bad, especially if it's quite a wide band.

I completely agree!

Why do people keep thinking Mag is bad? It's like people play her in one mission, find out they can't play her for sh!t, then think she is trash because they suck. If you can't play Mag beyond lvl 40, you are clearly the problem, not Mag.

As for Ember. I haven't personally tested her myself, but I stopped relying on her WoF a while back ago, and the changes didnt really seem all that bad (to me, personally). Although, I'm pretty sure people who rely on her 4th are probably crying in some dark corner right now...

I only play her for her Shooting gallery and Staggering Shield. When they reworked her 4th to what we know it as today, I never bothered with it, and just kept my tank build. :3

Mag Prime is literally my most played warframe.I still think she's bad. I just... really want to make her work.

Edited to add: I've not tried her since the update though. She's got to be better now.

i Use alot of time Ember and never played with Range this reduce your strenght and to melt someting i use close range but i need to wait alot of time against 30 or 40 lv, you people are desrtoying the game sure! we Nerf now Exalted Blade dont you? now is stupid the game are pushing to OP frames until the nerf! you people are suporting this game to the dead, and then you gona need two Kavats to deal some damage IMAO.

The problem with her nerf was not that it made her unusable, far from it. It was that now you're forced to focus very heavily on range if you're going to use her 4, which limits build possibilities.

She's not any more viable now than she was before. Actually I'd say she got even less viable because the range on her 4 increased her survivability. by setting enemies on fire before they had a chance to shoot.

Ember is still press 4 to win, let's stop pretending that this fixed anything. She just has less range now. Mesa is not press 4 to win because you have to aim with her and toggle it on and off. She requires far more active playstyle than Ember did or does even now.

You're going to give falloff to a weapon that can't even shoot further than 50m? Its range is already so low that it's often an annoyance even when you're not on PoE.
coledragonknight Feb 11, 2018 @ 2:28pm
She does 2x damage with WoF now, with accelrant i was doing something like 1400 per hit before that, so she is a real powerhouse now
On Vacation Feb 11, 2018 @ 3:12pm
There is not a single frame in this game, that is "barely" playable above level 40. There are cases where x frame might be more efficient or better suited for a task, but every frame is viable in any of the existing standard content. It sounds like you've already made up your mind though on what you think of Ember's changes. At the very least you heavily imply it.

On a side note yesterday I found it quite amusing to see a post challenging people supporting the nerf on WF's forums to do the sortie with Ember and record their experience. Lo and behold that challenge was accepted and hats off to the user for one upping the challenger by using a regular Ember with 0 forma's and no range mods.

mag is pretty powerful against grineer and corpus, not so much against infested, if you know how to play you can do level 100+ content without problem
