So... it depends if your priority was to overtrivialize an already trivial difficulty level or use her in a real battle.
Ember was one of the most boring frames in the game. You literally press "4" and just run around doing nothing. Anyone who thinks that is a proper mechanic hasn't tried the other frames. She wasn't fun to play or to have in a group because she would melt everything which left the rest of the group running around doing nothing just like Ember.
DE and the players don't want brainless gameplay like old Ember. The only people who are mad at the changes are those who have a max range Ember they use to idle in missions. I personaly like the change because it's going to force people to learn how to play her differently, or to play other frames. That is the most important thing here, playing other frames rather than EVERYONE playing the same frame because of it's "no skill required" play style.
I hope they change Mesa next because she is one of the last "press 4 to win" frames and PoE is flooded with people using Mesa because she requires no skill to play. 8 out of 10 groups I join in PoE has 1+ Mesas shinch is a red flag for the developers.
But yeah,Ember is still worth it.
As for Ember. I haven't personally tested her myself, but I stopped relying on her WoF a while back ago, and the changes didnt really seem all that bad (to me, personally). Although, I'm pretty sure people who rely on her 4th are probably crying in some dark corner right now...
I only play her for her Shooting gallery and Staggering Shield. When they reworked her 4th to what we know it as today, I never bothered with it, and just kept my tank build. :3
Mag Prime is literally my most played warframe.I still think she's bad. I just... really want to make her work.
Edited to add: I've not tried her since the update though. She's got to be better now.
She's not any more viable now than she was before. Actually I'd say she got even less viable because the range on her 4 increased her survivability. by setting enemies on fire before they had a chance to shoot.
Ember is still press 4 to win, let's stop pretending that this fixed anything. She just has less range now. Mesa is not press 4 to win because you have to aim with her and toggle it on and off. She requires far more active playstyle than Ember did or does even now.
You're going to give falloff to a weapon that can't even shoot further than 50m? Its range is already so low that it's often an annoyance even when you're not on PoE.
On a side note yesterday I found it quite amusing to see a post challenging people supporting the nerf on WF's forums to do the sortie with Ember and record their experience. Lo and behold that challenge was accepted and hats off to the user for one upping the challenger by using a regular Ember with 0 forma's and no range mods.
