The game detects when you've opened a relic. If you abort a mission after opening a relic, you won't get the drop and you'll lose the relic. You HAVE to finish the mission and get to extraction to get the reward. It shouldn't matter if you failed the mission either, it's your fault for not extracting after getting the drop you wanted.
Well either way that's a bit of a relief. Maybe I'll try it with something cheap sometime to be sure, but for now, thanks!
I was told by the majority that you lose the relics as soon as you crack them. Period. Like the nstant you get 10 traces the relic disappears from your inventory.
So trying to exploit the relic by dopping out mid-game would only make you lose the rewards the relic gave up.
