Riven Clarification
so i've been looking into rivens the last couple days since i unveiled one i thought sounded pretty good for the weapon in question and decided i kinda want to see what i can do with it. looking things up i'm not so sure now but i'm also finding conflicting information.

from what i can find it looks like stats have a range that they can roll as and if you have a negative stat it'll make the good ones better. then i found something else saying each positive stat will make the other stats weaker.

so now i'm wondering is the stat range a random roll that is then improved/penalized or is it a case of if it has 1 stat it would be the max value and then it'd be decreased for each positive.

riven i'm thinking of playing around with currently is for the quartakk and has unranked stats of:
12.8% multishot
15.6% impact
12.1% electricity
-10.7% status duration

was thinking of making it corrosive and maybe adding more punchthrough to the weapon since i think armor stripping is permanent so the duration loss shouldn't matter

I'm not too informed on how the riven stats work, but as for your riven and planned set up, it sounds like a good idea. Throw Malignant Force and High Voltage if you've got them to work well with the Quartakk's 27% status chance. If you want to build Punch Through as well, then maybe Vigilante Offense would be a good idea as well since it also has a 19% crit chance, so there's at least a small buff to your crits if you aren't putting in any other crit mods as well.

Of course, if you don't care for that and would prefer a faster semi automatic weapon, Shred will work.
You don't get to pick and choose the stats you roll / swap out.

yes i know, was just listing what the riven currently has that caught my eye. i'm not the best judge on what's good for a riven and only really have a full grasp on the dispositions aspect of them. granted i still haven't gotten a firm grasp on the ability some people have to just look at a weapon's base stats and go "build for crit" or "build for status" or "build hybrid"
Riven stats are random, but the results you get are as follows:

- Disposition directly correlates to the strength of stats.
- More positive stats grants reduced values.
- A negative stat grants increased values.
- The rest is RNG within those boundaries.

e.g.

+ Multishot
+ Impact
+ Electricity
- Status Duration

Has 3 stats at reduced strength in comparison to:

+ Multishot
+ Electricity
- Status Duration

But of course neither is objectively better because the first has an additional stat. This simply depends on the weapon and the build you're going for.

well, playing around on warframe builder while at work i think i've mostly gotten a build i want to try putting together. 5 forma to use the riven, serration, malignant force, high voltage, vile acceleration, split chamber and primed shred. debating between vital sense and point strike for the last one.
Most weapons have a riven disposition. That means that depending on how much it's used, it will either have a lower or higher disposition. Higher means that the average stats on a riven for that weapon will be higher, and lower means lower stats. And you focus on weapons that you enjoy personally. If you find yourself with a weapon with Base high critical hit chance, typical try roll that riven for critical chance. If you're creative, instead of building the weapons like the meta, you can try to build the weapon around the riven instead.
Semlar.com has a Riven Calc so you can see min max stats possible also.

A riven can have either 2 or 3 positives and 1 negative or no negative. If you have 3 positives each of them is weaker than if you had 2 positives. If you have negative it makes the positives stronger.

Couple things I want to say about this:
1. Every weapon that can have a riven has a disposition, not most.
2. Yes, DE has based dispositions based off the popularity of weapons, but it's worth clarifying that disposition is not dynamically updated, so if a weapon starts being more popular the disposition won't automatically shift. In fact, for a very long time DE didn't even touch dispositions. It wasn't until recently they actually started adjusting them. On top of that, they have not made any major adjustments. IIRC, they stated that at least for the meantime they won't be adjusting dispositions by entire blips (the little dots/circles that represent the disposition, there are a total of 5 dots, with 5/5 dots being the strongest disposition and 1/5 dots being the weakest disposition). I wasn't even aware that they could be partially adjusted until this.
