why are orokin cells so hard to extract?
it seems like the chance to get orokin cells with an extractor is almost 0.
I've been putting a distilling extractor on planets with them for probably a couple weeks now and only got cells once, meanwhile I've got neurodes probably a couple times, and neural sensors a couple times in just the past few days.

also it seems like all the planets with cells also have detonate ampules as the other rare resource, so now I have thousands of those that I'll never have a use for... :/

Just go on Ceres and do there some of the nodes. You will find the most time at least 1 Orokin cell per run. Even higher on Exta

well I pretty much have to go run something to get cells, 4 wouldn't be nearly enough.

I think it's more of an issue with how many of the things you need TBH...
just making the prime items probably requires at least 100 with some requiring 15 cells for just one weapon. then there are other things like forma that are needed regularly... it feels like all I do anymore is farm cells, hardly ever need anything else. maybe if resource requirements for things people actually use were more balanced it wouldn't be an issue.

and this seems to kinda be the general case for most people. I usually see people marking cells and going for them when I mark them... never seen anyone mark a detonate ampule and only see other rare resources like neurodes and neural sensors marked sometimes.

Because the demand for them (Fieldron Samples and Detonite Ampules) is generally lower (they're used almost exclusively for clan research), they do drop more frequently, and usually a few at a time (probably to offset the fact they don't have a specialised resource node), and, probably more importantly, on far more planets, you'll passively accrue them as you do pretty much anything.

My advice would be to move stuff you'd normally do on Sedna to Saturn, you'll also get Plastids while you're at it.

Level up stuff on Helene/Saturn. Bonus points if you run a Nekros.
Always leveled stuff there and I never needed to farm for cells since.

Bro,i always go to ceres gabi. Its a survival mission.lotsa xp & credits to gain there.i would do dat mission just for credits but along the way,i would always find orokin cells & i dont really need them.i farm credits there till i got a few hundreds of orokin cells without thinking i want them.well, rng works dat way i think.when you dont want them, there's plenty of them.
":D lol

I ran out of plastids so I've been extracting exclusively plastids for awhile and I keep getting orokin cells instead

Saturn exterminate (telesto) is a great place for them. I do my simaris daily there and get at least 4+ without a booster, without actively searching for them. So you could get more if you actively search.
