Leveling to MR16
Hey all!

I realised MR 16 is the level you want to be when you don't have to worry about your MR anymore as I believe riven mods have a maximum MR requirement of 16 (I could be wrong here). How difficult is it to level to MR 16 using just the standard non prime variants of gear, or, at what point will I have to start leveling prime or other expensive forma/nitain required to build gear. Anyone have some insight into this?

Thank you =]

If you are 15 already, you can practice 16 at Simaris.

You will be able to reach 16 without prime stuff but you will have to use forma for quite a few weapons from dojo. MR16 is about 180-ish items and 600,000-ish affinity. Its not hard to level to 16 IF you know what you're doing and have plat to buy forma in which case you can mr16 in 16 days, otherwise it will take 2-6 times longer.

I just got to MR 15 and am trying to get to 16, but I'm just about out of fast and cheap equipment (those that do not need forma to level and those that do not need to be leveled twice to get Affinity from it) to rank up. I'm trying to avoid using forma for weapons if possible, with the exception of weapons that I want for something more than MR fodder. Luckily I have used relatively few Warframes and can make up much of the remaining level with those.

Companions and Sentinels give alot of MR, and Sentinels come with a weapon that gives MR too. Zaws, Kitguns, Amps and especially custom K-Drives give out some much needed extra affinity for moving up the levels. I have not messed around with Moas yet but they give affinity as well.

I did rank up a good amount of prime equipment, most of it gained through opening relics. I only built prime frames that I liked and already owned the normal version of, though this was not the case with prime weapons and most of those were used as MR fodder and sold.

Arcwings can be a pain to level but it provides a whole new set of gear that gives affinity. I found The Odonata and starting weapons to be a bit of a pain but my second Arcwing and the Grattler are a joy to use.

Unlocking the star chart also gives a trivial amount of affinity per node, adding up to a more meaningful amount as you go through the hole thing.

So now I'm looking at 60k mastery to go for MR16 with most of the star chart unlocked, 9k worth of affinity sitting in my inventory and 30k worth of affinity sitting in my foundry waiting to be claimed. The last bit will probably come from unlocking more frames.

Best of luck.
actually you wanna get as high as possible, hence MR27 is the goal.
They made every daily cap depending on your MR which means the lower you are the less progress you can make per day.
I dont know who got the idea for that but its annoying as hell

If you haven't already, find every item that you don't have, start with easiest ones like buyable blueprints and easy warframe drops (if it's not mastered it won't have a mastery symbol on it)
There's some decent farm maps to quick-level like sedna-hydron and sanctuary onslaught.
Archwings are a pain to level there's no good stage that gives exp, maybe uranus survival and fighting from the water, but most of the decent archwing exp levels there's almost no one else running. Good luck on kubrow/kavat RNG
also don't forget to build different moa, k-drives, and amps, since they all also give mastery.

Start with weapons you can buy with pure credits. You can see them in arsenal equip list with a credit price instead of a platinum price.

Then move on to the BPs you can get from the market for credits. Easy check box to filter for them.

While you level those, try to find boar and gorgon if you haven't done them yet, they're enemy dropped BPs.

Also check out wiki entry for planet assassinate targets because some of them drop BPs that you can gather parts for while you farm stock frames.

Check out quests that lead to frame BPs and run them and farm parts for them while you're leveling up the stuff you made easier.

You should also make sure you get as many of the currently available primes made as you can because everything eventually gets vaulted and it sucks to get to the point where everything you haven't leveled is vaulted.

Check Baro every time he appears because he always brings a few weapons that you can only get from him in his weird random offering list. This includes some of the weapons released in previous events that aren't likely to re-run any time soon if ever.

Eventually you'll end up with nothing but currently unavailable things and dojo research stuff that takes forma to craft.

For the currently unavailable stuff, your only options are to buy parts from people if you can or to wait till they become available again.

For the stuff that requires forma to build, eventually plague star will come back and you can farm it till your eyes bleed and buy dozens of fully built formas for the standing you gain. Or just trade for plat and buy forma bundles from the market.

Moas, K-Drives, Zaws, Kitguns and amps are primarily made from parts bought with various standings so they can be something to work on while you run bounties while leveling gear up too.

That's my list in more or less ascending order of pain / availability, most of the harder to attain things are more what annoys you the least though.

Oh yeah, don't forget to check if a weapon is used in another build before you sell it if you're just foddering it, I had to re-make way too many things because I was too lazy 1/2 the time.

Prime gear really isn't that hard to get. It just all comes from Void Relics. You can farm relics from a buncha places. Once you really start doing Relic missions, you will find out how easy it is to get Prime stuff (in many cases, I got the Prime long before the normal version).

More like "Brilliant as hell" MR27 is more of a sweet spot 'end game' then a requirement, its for die-hards or for bragging right OR for people who want to trade more per day or those who like selling syndicate things or all of the above. Otherwise you can get everything you'll NEED from syndicates pretty quickly with just mr16. The goal is 16 after that you can decide if you're still having fun and if you want to go further. To put it simpler, by the time you reach MR27 :D you'll have everything from syndicates.

Finalizing AMP, ZAW and KITGUN are locked behind only rank3 syndicates, so you dont even need to go highest syndicate rank unless you want to earn every goodie thats available to you.

And as a side note "earning focus for operator's schools" is done partly thru MR"s daily standing but you need to just enough to unlock all 5 schools the rest can be done absurdly quicker thru tridolon hunting which has no daily limits.

Just play and enjoy the game the way you did from mr 0 and you’ll reach it in no time. Once you get 16 you wanna go for higher to trade more etc.

The stuff you get on your daily login also scales with your MR. Look it up on the wiki, it's quite interesting.
