I want to start a new game with harder conditions on the same map. Anyone know if there is a way to see the game seed after the game was started?

Just curious. Kinda weird to be accumulating resources without seeing them.

Call me dumb but I don't see any. I see fruit trees and mushrooms. Where are the carrots? Can't research things that require carrots if I got no carrots!! EDIT: I was asking because when I clicked on my storage yard it did not show carrots (just fruite and mushrooms) yet apparently that prerequisite was met somehow because the research carried on... so it seems that, for research, you just click a bunch of buttons and eventually they get researched and then you can build new stuff....

What's a good farm to population ratio? My food supply is mainly consisting of the trader. I know the food ebbs and flows with the seasons, but the actual amount of food created by my farms is almost negligent begging the question if allocating 30 people to make 100 food is worth it. Can the farm fields be bigger than the area of influence that the farm building has?...
