Class not registered?
So I decided to reactivate my account tonight but upon doing so and trying to launch Playonline, I get an immediate error message of "class not registered." I can't even get to the login screen. I have not changed anything on my PC or any FFXI files, the game has been installed all this time too. I do not have the steam version, I have the PC version with all expansions up to Adoulin. Any suggestions?

I have never seen that error before.
If you can't get into the launcher to do a file check, I would delete Pol and try reinstalling it. (Though Idk if thet will mess with ffxi or not.)

Yea idk. I would think that if I delete POL, it might mess something else up

Worse comes to worse, you'd have to reinstall both, but there's a trick. If you need to do it this way, try just reinstalling Pol first.

Copy the ROM-9, Sound-9, and mov folders to another location for temp storage. Uninstall all of FFXI and Pol, reinstall them all, and then replace those folders back into the FFXI folder appropreiately, before hitting play on the main page in Pol to update it. FFXI should then only update the missing or outdated files rather then the whole folder, saving upwards of like, 6 hours of downloading.

If you've not done so already, you could try posting to the ffxiah.com or the offical forums and see if there's any response or ideas as to what that error means.

I did just try deleting POL and redownloading just that, now when launching the FFXISetup.exe, I get "no such archive." ugh!

Do my suggestion then, copy those folders to another place on the drive, delete FFXI, reinstall it from disc, replace those folders and overwrite when asked, and repatch FFXI, it should cut time to a fraction, and hopefully fix all the problems^^ Or do those steps, and click check files from the main menu of Pol, before you click a profile to login with, that should also fix any missing or damaged files.

And the reinstall should fix any registery issues.
