I bought the game earlier today, and when it finished downloaded I was able to access the title screen, but whenever I tried to access the 'new character' option the game just crashed. I went into settings and enabled simplified character creation, which seemed to stop the crashing. However, now whenever I try to actually click on the select character option the game just instantly crashes. Does anyone know how to fix this?...

After many months of temptation to return to the game (haven't played since 2011!) I impulsively went to resub and BAM! Turns out SE flopped by switching to a low-rate credit-management company, and now people can't update or renew. Every alternative (crysta, steam wallet, etc) not working.
