I just bought the game and I can't log in.

I bought this because I wanted to explore the world and be a fisherman again. I originally played it when it first came out. But I haven't played any of the expansions.

My issue is in the Play Online Viewer. It keeps giving me Error Code POL-5312. I've spent several hours now dealing with this just trying to log in and play the game since I bought it on the 3rd. If I can't get it to work in the next day or so I'm just filing for a refund and forgetting this.

EDIT: I tried to update the password and now it's just telling me "Incorrect PlayOnline ID or password." That's all it's telling me.

i had the same issue last couple days, found out that pol and SE password are different lol hope that helps

Problem is if they are different password then where do you log into pol to change that password? The only site I can get into is Squareenix log in and get that password. from https://secure.square-enix.com/account/ What is the site for pol password?

First off you will have 2 passwords:
1- The square enix account password that lets you log into the square enix webpage itself.
2- The playonline ID password that only works within the little launcher that comes preinstalled with Final Fantasy 11.

So it is a little complicated at first. The little menu that they have you fill in on the playonline viewer is confusing. Your play-online password has to match the one that they gave you by default OR (This is what I did) you can go to the ff11 website and navigate to your account settings for ff11. In there you can click update playonline password somewhere near the bottom of the screen.

When you do that add a new one and save it. Then go back to your ff11 launcher and MAKE SURE to edit the PLAYONLINE password in the little profile you have set up in there. It should match the one that you created. Next try to log IN and then it will ask you to put in your SQUARE ENIX password. As long as the playonlineid password was setup correctly you should be fine. It was a 30 min headache but I hope this helps.

Don't even mess with the one time password at this time LOL it will only drive you crazy. Set that up later if you want to but for the sake of just getting into the game, I do not recommend it.

Also if you didn't know you can use the crysta option for your free trial instead of putting in credit/debit card info.

I myself have followed this to a T. But i still can not get pass the square enix password issue. It will not accept my password for that. Not sure why Just aint accepting it.

I had this issue before and I solved it by changing my Square Enix account password then changed my PlayOnline password to the same exact thing. Don't know how or why but hope that helps.
