What the hell?

I just bought this game and omg I can't even log in, This PlayOnline interface is incredibly retarded, I have my own Square Enix account, I know my password, ID's and all. And it still says Incorrect!!!

I istalled the game downloaded on the Official Site because I live in Brazil and FFXI on Steam is region locked for my country. I had problems Logging in but it was because I had an SE acccount saying I was living on Japan (I don't even remember why I set it to Japan, I think it was because of gamming news about releases...), and I had to provide my city and postal code to get Play online codes. I remember something about I creating a password to Play Online, but turns out, that "Japanese" account was the case.
Maybe if I knew the Postal Code for some city there I could login, or not. Because the servers would recognize that I don't live there... But what if I was a Japanese that came to live here?

All I mean is: Don't lie on your region on SE account, this might be the case. As I figured out on my side.

i just got it to work..... what a pain. had to use windows edge because the playonline website scripts wouldnt work on chrome for setting up the Options List. had to make a Member ID to use my PlayOnline ID in the PlayOnline Viewer. had to Add my SquareEnix ID to my Member ID info and use the SquareEnix Password. Then add the subscription from PlayOnline website to access the Content ID. Now i can create a character (2hours later). the websites script errors threw me for a loop. i hear firefox has same ish.

First u go to http://www.playonline.com/ website. Next click your region. (u.s.a.) At the top right is will say Square Enix Account management System in a red box, click on it. Enter your SquareEnix account info and log in. Click on the Blue FF11 SERVICE ACCOUNTS Box. Then Add New PlayOnline service account. Paste your Steam key (can be found in your steam library game details page). This should give you a PlayOnline ID and Password to use in the PlayOnline Viewer that opens when u run ff11 though steam. Next you will want to go to Options List for your Service Account. You need to click on Add New Options. Add how many characters and setup the subscription plan. (The WEB PAGE scripts for this step would not work on chrome for me so i had to use Windows new internet explorer trash) Next go to the Playonline Viewer that is opened through steam. Create a Member ID by using the PlayOnline ID and Password and also add your SquareEnix ID. Then you click on your Member ID and choose Log In. Even if you did not add a SquareEnix ID to your member ID info it will ask for SquareEnix Password. If your password worked during the webpage steps it should work in the PlayOnline Viewer (laucher). If you have made it this far another cool thing is If you watch the intro video your connection will timeout. All you have to do is relog and skip the video next run.

This process was way worse on Xbox 360. Jesus Christ. You want to talk about having to update 50million files lmao then wait for the PlayOnline to finally appear to be told to get on the PC and create an account to only fall into the same redundancy you encountered.. Only in... 2007 :P
