Atmosphere keeps disappearing
I am trying to make Europa habitable but the atmosphere keeps disappearing, I added oceans, decreased the albedo and even tried turning off temperature so it wouldn't change, but nothing. The atmosphere appears while the game is paused but then it just vanishes. Can anyone help me?

Unfortunately this is kinda expected. Europa, to my knowledge, has a much lower surface gravity and escape velocity than an Earth-like planet at the temperatures it's reaching, so the atmosphere will just evaporate off as the planet can't hold it. The atmosphere would probably work better if the planet were farther away or had a higher albedo, making the planet colder.

In the Sim settings you can disable Fragment, which will prevent objects from producing particles and fragments (wow!), stopping them from losing their atmosphere.
I don't think you can do this on a per-object basis, but it should work for this problem.

I increased the gravity of Europa to just under the mass of earth

Thanks!

It's hard to know if this is expected or an issue with Universe Sandbox without knowing a bit more about how exactly you've adjusted Europa's properties.

Could you share the simulation with us on the Steam Workshop so we can take a look at it and see what's happening?

I closed it, but, I do know that the mass and radius was that almost the same as earth along with composition and temperature, the earth similarity was 90%< that is all I can remember, sorry I forgot to save the sim.

Thank you for that additional information, and no worries at all. If you see this issue happen again, please do save the simulation and share it with us so we can look into it.
Happening to me too

Are you seeing atmospheres disappearing specifically from Europa when trying to Terraform it, or from other planets in general?

That was in mid 2024 the bug has seemed to stop with the new update

That's great. Thank you for letting us know. Please do let us know if you run into any other issues with Universe Sandbox in the future.
