Temperature?
When I try to cange the surface temperature of any planet (Even if it's by itself) it just changes back. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

In fact of all, it depends on the distance where the location (s) star (s), the atmosphere of the planet and also the recent collisions. I also have problems like that but I thought that normal c Select activities but I can not get too sometimes.

(I'm french, sorry for my bad English, it is the translation done by Google Translate.)

The temperature flipping back right away is a bug that we're working on fixing. When it works it will gradually cool back down or heat up depending on its situation.

I also experience this issue. This bug exists 6 years now?
Running on Laptop with Fedora 34 and dedicated Graphics Card..

We are aware of an issue that sometimes occurs on Linux machines where the temperature is stuck at either -273 C or sets the temperatures to be very hot.

Our temporary solution for this is to make sure that Vertical Sync is set to Off. You can do this by going to: Home > Settings > Graphics > Vertical Sync

If you turn Vertical Sync to Off and still have issues with the temperature, please let me know.

If this is not the issue you are currently experiencing, can you please describe what is happening with some steps to reproduce it?

I have Ubuntu 20.04 and had same issue too. Toggling Vertical sync worked, but as I already had it off I had to enable it, restart, and disable again. After another restart I got cloud motion and surface temperature working.

When I press the button to stabilize the temperature, the minimum temperature drops to -273°C. No matter which planet and whether vsync is on or off. All these temperature bugs are very disappointing. Will this ever been fixed?

System: i9 11900k / 32 GB RAM / RTX 3090 / WIN 11

Thanks for pointing this out. We are aware that right now the Stabilize Temperature button may not give the results you would expect.

What the button currently does is give an instantaneous snapshot of the heat sources over the surface of an object.

So if an object does not have a heating source on its poles, for example, the temperature gets set to 0 Kelvin instead of averaging the heating sources over the object's surface. The button stabilizes the temperature, but the results are not necessarily stable over time.

This result happened due to changes to keep the average temperature of objects, like Earth, more stable over time. Unfortunately, accounting for the average temperature of the entire object throughout its rotation and orbit ended up being more complicated to incorporate than anticipated. We hope to make the Stabilize Temperature button give results that are more stable over time in the future.

Thanks for your reply. I think that makes sense and is logical. I had already assumed that it had something to do with it.

temps i get planets like earth when i put them closer to the sun then mercury. -16.5 or lower ( )O+. should be like 700 to 1200 deg.
