Universe Sandbox Roadmap : 2025 & Beyond
Our roadmap for 2025 includes meteors burning up in the atmosphere, simulating basic life, and getting Universe Sandbox on mobile devices.

So is the plan for the Visually Deformed Objects to deform from the tidal effects of a close orbit, or just from their own rotation?

Good question. I believe the plan is for objects to visually deform due to tidal effects as well as from their own rotation, but this is still a work in progress.

Nice
For the Life Simulation feature, we should add multiple species of plants and animals that react differently based on their new settings, such as, name, color, speed, species diet, feeding rate, and chance of being eaten. This should be a valuable and dynamic simulation improvement to that feature, and teach users about life on other planets, so thank you for your feedback on new features and updates!

Will vegetation shifting color to match sunlight likely be added in the same update?

If you can make up plants and animals for the Life Simulator, can you do the same for humanoids in the future?

We don't have any plans to adjust vegetation color based on the peak light wavelength of nearby sources of light and heat right now, but that doesn't mean we won't in the future.

We don't have any plans to simulate humanoids in the future specifically, but we do want to add generic carnivores and omnivores to the list of types of life we can simulate after the initial version of life simulation is done.
I hope it won't take too long for the next update to be completed.

My mom is expecting me to take cooking lessons sooner rather than later.

Where is the newer life sim at actually? Can it handle ocean animals?

I was going to ask if they could handle subsurface oceans but I know the game is not at the point of having geothermal activities or any other relevant heating method for that.

That should be interesting.

We are currently planning to allow life to spread into oceans if you simulate it with the correct conditions, so you could have algae or something similar living in the oceans of your planets.

Well, that explains a lot.
