Those solutions are based off start up issues, but it could solve your crashing problems at the same time.
Thanks, ill look at it.
EDIT: nope, nothing seems to work. :(
Ah man. :P
The devs do come onto Steam forums, so they may see this if it doesn't get pushed down too far. Or, another way to ask is when you see one of them in here, you could ask them directly. That is, if your problem still persists. Who knows, maybe your crash problem will be fixed when another update comes out.
I hope so.
Well, it could be anything, even my computer heating up possibly, hopefully tommorow it works.
What are your specs? Do you have the latest drivers for your GPU? Overheating is always a possibility, as it could cause system instability, which may explain why the game ran yesterday and not today.
Do you have any fans installed in your PC? A CPU fan? Case fans? Closed loop watercooler?
The closed loop coolers looke like this (they also go on the CPU for cooling):

Simply installing a fan for your case can drastically cut down on heat by blowing hot air away from components. Two fans are usually good because one can be used at the front to suck cool air into the case, then have one in the back to push it out.
Yeah ive got fans on my PC, and ive left it off for 12 hours, its definitely cooler than the last time i played the game, and it still doesnt work. I think it may be a problem with saving simulations as the last thing i did on Us2 was save a simulation.
Ah, okay then. When I was a part of the US2 Closed Alpha, the devs had updated frequently, had a new version every month or so. Maybe the next update will solve your crashes. :)
I hope so.
Typically if the game was working fine, but now it's having an issue, even after a re-install, there's a bad setting in the game's configuration files.
Those are stored outside the game's directory, so they're not cleaned up if you delete the directory manually.
On Mac OS X PlayerPrefs are stored in ~/Library/Preferences folder, in a file named unity.GiantArmy.UniverseSandbox.plist (The name may be slightly different).
Simply delete the .plist file and it will be rebuilt when you restart the game.
On Windows, PlayerPrefs are stored in the registry under HKCU\Software\GiantArmy\UniverseSandox\
You can delete the key folder for GiantArmy, and it will remove all the subkeys as well.
If you need help with the registry, just let me know. You can access it by typing in Regedit in the search area of the start menu.
On Linux, PlayerPrefs can be found in ~/.config/unity3d/GiantArmy/UniverseSandbox again using the company and product names specified in the Project Settings.
I have deleted the key folder for GiantArmy and also tried changing the resolution values in the Reg editor (after deleting giant army and going on the game) and the problem still persists. Thanks for the help though :)
Hopefully a new update will fix it if nothing seems to work.
As a little test, can you try disabling the Steam community overlay?
1) Click on Steam and click on the "Settings" button. Click on the "In-Game Settings" tab.
2) Uncheck the box next to "Enable Steam Community In-Game" and click OK.
3) Disable the Steam Overlay on specific games only by right-clicking on the game title, click on "Properties" and uncheck "Enable Steam Community In-Game" in the "General" tab.

You can email them to me at chad @ universesandbox.com
I've sent you my output log. Also, ive tried Disabling the steam community already and it didn't affect anything.
Try making sure that you launch the game from inside of Steam (clicking it in your game library), instead of launching from on Icon or the installation folder.
If you're launching normally from Steam, there might be a problem with your Steam installation.
Refreshing your Steam files can often fix this issue.
