How to get universe sandbox 1? i wanna try it

Why there is universe sandbox 2, and where is the original?

Universe Sandbox was renamed to Universe Sandbox Legacy, which has been discontinued and is no longer available for purchase.

Development is instead focused on Universe Sandbox 2, which was renamed to just Universe Sandbox, because the first Universe Sandbox was never really completed from my understanding.

You can access previous versions by right clicking on Universe Sandbox in your Steam library, clicking Properties, and then Betas. Choose "Beta" (previous) version from the drop-down list (or an actual Beta, if you're so inclined). I really appreciate the possibilty to play previous versions of a game, even if I haven't used this option yet in the case of Universe Sandbox. If I had Minecraft on PC instead of on my PS4, I would definitely have played previous versions of Minecraft by now (to try to learn something about the history of development of this particular game, it makes me wonder why "ancient" Minecraft feels like a completely different game than modern versions).

JuJuBee 043 is pretty much correct, but to make sure all the details are here, the original Universe Sandbox, now called Universe Sandbox Legacy, wasn't incomplete, but was a completely game that became difficult to update and maintain due to the way it was originally created.

Universe Sandbox has a somewhat confusing naming history. You can read about the details in a blog post that we wrote on the topic if you are interested:

The short version is that a couple of years ago, we renamed "Universe Sandbox ²" to just "Universe Sandbox" to show our commitment to keeping this version updated for the foreseeable future.
