Next-Generation Graphics Coming Soon!
Prepare to immerse yourself in a universe more awe-inspiring and realistic than ever before with our next-generation Universe Sandbox graphics update. Over the past year and a half, we've been replacing our decade-old graphics technology with a state-of-the-art system that sets the stage for future enhancements.

While there's still more to be done before it's ready for release, we're excited to give you a sneak peek at our progress.

Check out our 2024 Roadmap to learn more about what we have planned.

Any chance we can get diffraction spikes for the really hot objects?

Does this mean that Neptune will get it's colors redone to match the redone photos? It's color scheme is more like Uranus's instead of the dark blue that it was originally thought to have. Also, will Triton, the largest moon of Neptune, have a surface texture of it's own? If not, then will these two things come in a later update? Thank you! :steamhappy:

We don't have any plans to add diffraction spikes to objects right now, but that doesn't mean it won't happen in the future. Our main goal for this update is make sure that we have all the same features that we currently do. We're not planning to add many new graphics effects as part of this update, but we are planning to add more in the future.

We're not planning to update Neptune and Uranus's colors as part of this update, but we are planning to do so in the future once we've finished with our new graphics renderer.

Very well, then! And what about putting a texture map on Triton? Or at the very least, changing it's colors to something that more resembles what it looks like in the Voyager 2 pictures?

Bummer. The rest of the game already looks great.

We've discussed ways to improve our texture maps of planets and moons that aren't fully complete in the past, but have not come up with a solution that we are happy with yet.

We don't have any plans to add them right now, but that's something for us to potentially revisit after we finish our graphics update.

Alright, thank you for answering my questions. You're a real one!

Hey, at least we know they will likely add them! I'm mainly excited for when they finally add in atmospheric drag! Just imagine all the simulations of probes you could do once they add in drag. There would probably be many simulations of Cassini entering Saturn's atmosphere. Or maybe a meteor being incinerated by the air friction of Venus's atmosphere. The possibilities are just about endless! :steamhappy:
