How do *YOU* Have Fun with this Game?
I've been interested in buying this game for years. I actually did buy it at one point, but returned it after about 40 minutes because I felt overwhelmed and didn't really understand what you could actually do with it besides smash things into one another and goof around with the mass and density of planets in the solar system.

I'm curious as to what you, the person reading this, do with this simulation to have fun with it. Do you make new solar systems? smash tiny things into one another until you make a big celestial body? Challenge yourself to make habitable planets in inhospitable circumstances? Mess with orbits and watch how it changes the solar system around it?

I'm kind of at a loss as to what people actually do in this, rather than what you *can* do. Most youtubers seem to just like throwing moons at earth and laughing at it explode for ten minutes, but I have to assume there's some more rewarding gameplay loop beyond that. Just curious! I'd love to be given some ideas or general direction as to what kind of things you have the most fun doing.

Apologies if someone has already asked a similar question.

i /try/ to simulate a protoplanetary disk forming planets.

i also used to try to simulate galactic mergers.

however, current mechanics are not very satisfactory for either activity at the moment.

I just bought it myself and I don't really know how everything works but I'm a curious nature and I'm a sponge for knowledge so I'll just use it and discover stuff as I go. I love space which is a good starting point... I think.

I'm currently a mix of the 2 posts above.^

[Insert sinister laugh here]

Definitely a game where a person gains enjoyment from what you put into it. I am, of course, a person who enjoys delving into the "what if?" scenarios. I am still learning what it can do, so the universe is safe from my imagination -for now.

I create simulations of systems seen in science fiction that are as realistic as possible. Most of my time has gone into the Firefly/Serenity system that has 233 inhabitable worlds orbiting 14 suns, 2 black holes, and numerous gas giants all in semi-stable orbits.

I like to throw things at stars and see how it knocks them out of orbit and watch the chaos ensue! Also just putting as many random planets as I can orbiting a sun to see the collisions. I only wish you could actually get a realistic forming of bodies by randomly adding things while paused then watching stuff collide and form new planets or stars.

The games physics might get overreactive and annoying sometimes, but I find a way to fix it, for me, its the type of game you are obsessed with and than leave it for half a year or even more, overall, its very good, you make planets by smashing things, you make those planets orbit stars you made, you add more planets, maybe a moon, but its good. And every time I go back to the game, it gets better! You have hundreds of things to do, youtubers only explode them, you can do the opposite. There is like 11,000 worlds on Universe Sandbox 2, I really like it, well I heard the 11,000 worlds in a fact but I believe it, im getting better and better at the game, its annoying at first, but when you get used to it, and know the mechanics, its a very good game to play.
