Is anyone running this on a M1 Mac?
If so, how is it running?

I'm running it on an M1 Mini. While it's not optimized for the M1, and there are places where this is apparent, overall it runs quite well.

The auto-detected quality and performance settings are a bit ambitious for the M1, so as a starting point I'd recommend changing the Atlas Resolution (Settings -> Performance -> Surface Simulation) to 512 x 1024, and the Graphics Quality (Settings -> Graphics -> Quality Settings) to Medium.

Will this game get native Apple Silicon support down the line?

I do not have one, but it should work fine. There might be some random performance issues, however.

To bump this, will this game be getting M1 optimization any time soon?

Thank you for following up on this.

We would like to have M1 optimization (native support for Apple Silicon) at some point in the future, however we do not have a timeline for that right now.

In the meantime, Universe Sandbox should run quite well in general on the M1.

I’ll pick up a copy of this as soon as it’s optimised for Apple Silicon. Is there a crowdfunding option to sponsor development?

As of Update 31.2, Upgrading our Engine, Universe Sandbox includes native support for Apple M1 chips.

We do not do any crowdfunding for development. The best way to support us and the continued development of Universe Sandbox is to purchase a copy.

when placing a galaxy on mac the game just decides to commit die

Hmm, that shouldn't be happening. Thank you for reporting this.

Can you please do the following
1. Launch Universe Sandbox
2. Open a new simulation
3. Try to add a galaxy.
4. If Universe Sandbox crashes after trying this, can you please send us a copy of your Player.log file? Here are some instructions on how to do that

no that was back in 2020 when i only used a mac because i was poor, but going back to older versions made the galaxies perform better

plus it just lagged so hard by what i mean "commit die" its even worse than crashing

Thinking about purchasing this.. I'm using an M2 MAX Macbook Pro. Is there native support now for M2 chips as well?

Thanks!

Yes, Universe Sandbox has native support for any Mac Silicon chips, including the M2.
