Universe Sandbox

Universe Sandbox

This game is too expensive when it's not even that fun.
Played it for about 20 minutes on my friend's computer. How can people enjoy it this much? It gets rather boring quite fast. Should be around 15 euros without sale and 8 euros on sale imo.

I find this game a little boring tho, but how about try doing some experiments? that might make it interesting, like you can try some what ifs in your mind. for example, what if sun was replaced by uy scuti? that would be interesting. and it would be fun too. it may not be worth it, but you can do almost anything you want in this game.

This game isn't for you most likely. The fun comes from the simulation- if you have no interest in physics then things probably won't make sense and it'll get stale fast.

It's not really a game for me. I use it as a tool to simulate custom solar systems for worldbuilding purposes. Of course, I mess around with it half the time.

Universe Sandbox is definitely more like a physics tool. That said, has anyone got any ideas on what would make it more fun? We're always open to feedback!

Honestly, you guys are going in the right direction for fun factor. Improved graphics, etc. I think the best thing you could do would be improving the accuracy of the simulation somehow.

Also adding a graphic for SOI would be nice as well.

Make human scale object collision better, for some reason i find it fun to make mini solor systems out of dice and pool balls, so better collision would make this more fun.

add more planet customization, like ocean color or atmosphere thickness scale (like venus). maybe more planet textures.

Sarah, I disagree with the O.P., Universe Sandbox is definitely one of the most entertaining and engrossing games ever released on PC, or any platform. As "CEO of Computers" stated, you guys are already on the right track in terms of ongoing updates and planned feature additions. However, there's one feature in particular I really think a lot of people would enjoy and it would add a new educational utility function to Universe Sandbox, realistically-simulated point explosions on object surfaces or at a user-defined custom position in 3D space using X,Y,Z coordinates of some kind.

What I mean by "point explosions" is a user-customized point-and-click tool, similar to the already included "explode" feature, except differing in a few key ways. The "point explosion" tool should allow the user to click on any point in 3D space in an active simulation open in Universe Sandbox, for example the Solar System Now & Real-Time Simulation, and cause an explosion of custom magnitude with custom properties.

Currently, the "explode" tool just causes an orbital body, like an asteroid or planet, to just completely explode. However, the "point explosion" tool would allow a user to cause a custom explosion anywhere and with unique custom properties including:

1. Explosion Type (combustion deflagration, combustion detonation, nuclear fission, or n. fusion)
2. Explosion Magnitude (explosive mass/yield in kilograms/tons of TNT equivalence)
3. Explosion Epicenter (3D coordinates of ground-zero marked by mouse click or X,Y,Z position)

This new tool would allow users to approximately visualize the real-world effects of nuclear weapons or simply play around by blowing stuff up on their own terms, lol. Another descriptive title for the "point explosion" tool could be "Dial-A-Yield Explosion" :handywrench: :Uranium:

This simulator/game is good to gain a little more insight into how physics works between the celestial bodies. But I also like to use it for making solar systems, observing things, opening some simulations and to relax with it before going to sleep. I can't wait for the planned spaceships to be added to the simulator, then it gets even more interesting.

developers will add fun things in future like biomes on planets and inteligent life and animal/plant life with evolution by inteligent i mean like us with cars and cool tehnologies
