I added it to the same parent planet and at almost the exact distance... the planet isnt even around a sun so the heat from a star wouldnt be a variable....
When it generated last time, it was blue bodied with "clouds" of some sort that moved around. I am not doing it justice. This time however, its just a red ball.... weird. I am confused how this random feature works
I Googled "Tuade" and cannot find any information about a moon...so I am assuming the game does in fact randomly generate names as well as objects? But I have been able to repeatedly generate Tuade again and again and its now having a res appearence.
So, are there just a set amount of "Random Moons" to chose from? Fictional moons with pre set names? IDK why Tuade is looking red now instead of blue and cloudy .....
"Random [X]" does indeed randomly generate an object with a random appearance, random properties, and a random name. (The exceptions are "Random Known Star" and "Random Exoplanet", which select randomly from the database.) There may be a higher frequency of some names than others, which is why you see that name popping up, and it's the same for any type of object.
Thank you so very much for the response!! Well, I am glad I can rest easy now and stop trying to get it back hehe. Ill just have to make it.
Its awesome to see the developers on the discussion forum! Thank you so much, just know its extremely appreciated!!
There are lots of different textures for moons in the game and every time one of them is chosen. I wanted to generate a moon that looked like Lepetus but in the prosses i got 2 identical moons. This means that the textures are not generated
You can see what combinations of textures are used to generate random planet surfaces by opening their Properties and going to
Surface > Elevation > Elevation Map 1 or 2
