Very well known objects to my opinion are:
- USS Enterprise D from Star Trek The Next Generation (640 meters long)
- Deep Space 9 Station from Star Trek Deep Space Nine (1451 meters in diameter)
- USS Voyager from Star Trek Voyager (343 meters long)
- USS Vengeance Star Trek into Darkness (1450 meters long)
- Borg Cube from Star Trek (3 x 3 x 3 km)
- Death Star 1 Star Wars (120km diameter)
- Death Star 2 Star Wars (160km diameter)
- Imperial-class Star Destroyer Star Wars (1600 meters long)
But I guess these objects cannot be placed in this game because of copyright issues. I don't think the makers of Universe Sandbox 2 are willing to pay for the usage of these ships.
Is this supposed to be an Astronomyy Sim or is it just a Big Joke with some of the idiotic things people are suggesting to be added !!??
Workshop sharing is not far away (ie. systems created in US²). Custom objects are further awat n time, but will happen. I hope there'll eventually be a platofrm where everything is creatable. If the devs make modding, etc. user friedly and intuitive (hint: Skyrim), Star Wars/Star Trek sims will be just the beginining.
I'm all for modding, I hope the devs will provide a proper, robust modding platform, but the contents should be community generated. I much prefer the actual dev team spending their time on what this program is meant to be than making sci-fi-toys.
and anyway metal sphere or metal cube are not copyright :^)
but, as a quick and dirty example, hasbro slaps the nosecone of a f-16 or some mig onto a f-14, and thereby avoids having to pay lockheed for licensing.
"roadster" is probably too generic a term to trademark, but the tesla brand is undoubtibly protected.
but still, tesla probably appreciates the small bit of publicity.
