No sound?

Exactly what the title says, I have no sound at all

Sorry if these seem obvious, but let's run through some basic troubleshooting first:
1 - Please try restarting Steam and your computer.
2 - Does sound work on other applications? Other Steam games?
3 - Is sound/music enabled in Universe Sandbox ²? Click Home > Settings > Audio
4 - Please try verifying game files: http://universesandbox.com/support/verify

1. I have done that three times, experiencing still no sound.
2. Yes it works on other applications and other Steam games.
3. Both sound and music are enabled in Universe Sandbox2.
4. I have verified the game files, when I launched the game after still no sound.
At this point should I just uninstall it then reinstall it and see what happens? The usual issue is the game will be set to direct the audio into a non-default setting, but since Universe Sandbox2 has no such setting where you can change where the audio is output to I can't do anything about that.

Sorry, one of our developers was looking into this, but I'm not sure if any issues were resolved. I will check in with him and let you know if there's any progress.

Thanks very much few games have a developer who actively responds to questions, would it help to know my rig?
